swpc_tex_gui.erf wrong checksum,cant install patch

Featured Replies

I can't seen to install 1.0b patch. Online, offline, nor manual.

It always says that swpc_tex_gui.erf is not old, has wrong checksum or similar and that patching is aborted (after 96% done).

Don't know what to do, even reinstall seems didn't helped.

Anybody else has similar experince and solved the problem?

Here are few thoughts I have:

1. Before the reinstall did you delete the game folder completely? (It should've re-copied the file anyway but you never know...)

2. Can you play the game without the patch? Is the texture file actually corrupted? (ofcourse it could just be one little part that's corrupted)

3. You may have got one of the dud CD's and you'll need to get a replacement.

1) Yes

2) Yes, works fine

3) install works fine so I dont see that to be a problem

P.S.

I think with search I found few other posters with similar problem. Don't know how they solved it (no, remoiving antivirus doesn't help, nor doing nothing during patch install).

The file "seems" to hang during install, but just let it run for 15 min or such without any action on the background.

Or 2. Be happy you can't install Bug Pack 1...

No it doesn't hang for me.

I just says bad checksum and canceles installation.

P.S.

They aren't in that list, but they do are in the patch >_<

As for the bugs, take a look in this 20 page long topic:

Personally, I'm scared that Obsidian is doing NWN2.

If patch support is like this...

Although NWN2 would not have mony-grabbing LucasArts as publishers, so it's maybe different thing.

Anyway, I'm going way off topic.

I'm still have problems installing this "patch".

After many e-mails to Lucas Arts tech support I was told (and I personally varified this on another computer myself) that the patch will not install successfully *unless* You root disk is C: AND KotOR2 is installed on C:

Really?

Hmm...

Yep.

Unless you are called Battlewookiee ofcourse ;)

Explenation:

Actually, the first time I tried the patch Kotor2 was on D:/

Not that the patch lasted 1 day on there before un-install (and not because the *patch* stopped working) :x <_<

I've seen it happen on two different computers
