You know, I had three of my former students come up to me after church a few weeks ago to tell me where they're going to school next year.  Two are going to USC and one is going to UCI.  I told them that I'll be commuting to UCLA in the fall and the USC brats (actually, they're both very nice girls) started making fun of the UCLA football team.  So, private school didn't hurt their academcis, but it didn't instill kindness to old teachers either.

Well, I'm pretty sure USC can make fun of UCLA. Come to think of it, there aren't that many football programs that USC can't make fun of, so I'd call it fair, and not necessarily unkind.

USC has been up for two years, but they have been down plenty of times before. And while UCLA had a horrid team last year, they did give USC a scare and almost knock them off.
