Well NO location means they must be used to floods right now, they could not even burry their dead because the coffins would float out of the graves.

You do have to wonder about why the place became a city. Back in the day you had to add various swamp bugs and fevers to the problems.

I should also add to you foreigners that the Uk does not get massive disasters like this on a regular basis. Nor do we have venomous animals, reptiles, or giant flying space clams.

better hope you have flood insurance. I'm just happy I'm in CA where the closest thing we have to a natural disaster locally is a minor earthquake every few days (minor as in it barly bumps your cup.) Eru can testify to this.

What?

California is Hell on Earth! Every year they have plagues and earthquakes hurricanes and huge fires ..! (seemingly)

Fires, yes. Plagues,no. Hurricanes, no. Earthquakes, small ones every so often big ones every ten years. And somtimes the Folsom Dam breaks flooding the valley or we get too much rain.

I'm sure I heard about your locust plague a few years ago. It was the same year as half the State burnt up. And there were floods.

Locusts I haven't heard about, from what I remeber they are primairly a SoCal Problem. I'm in the north/central area with Eru. we mainly have troubles with the mosquitos and West Nile Virus, and some flooding but the flooding was only really bad twice in the past decade, before that we had 40 years of no flood.

Don't worry. President Bush is cutting short his holiday to oversee the recovery efforts personally. :luck:

They officially declared it the MOST expensive disaster in American History. Also New Orleans is appearenty about 12% underwater. I was half asleep when that last one was said so I could be wrong.

If I were Calax, I'd retort with complaints about your complete and utter inability to convey any sort of humor through your writing.

But, alas, I am not Calax... yet another oppoturnity wasted.

New Orleans is actaully getting worse:

n New Orleans, meanwhile, water began rising in the streets Tuesday morning, apparently because of a break on a levee along a canal leading to Lake Pontchartrain, and prompted the evacuation of hotels and offices. New Orleans lies mostly below sea level and is protected by a network of pumps, canals and levees. Many of the pumps were not working Tuesday morning.

Um.....how the hell isn't this a bigger story. A city that is known by many in the world is currently 80% under water, and the water is rising.

There is talk about the city being a total loss and it's like nobody gives a **** really. hmmmmm
