You can't - he's gone. But pay attention to what's going on across Nar Shaddaa - the solution doesn't jump out at you, but this is part of something pretty interesting.

There's no direct follow-on from this quest - you can't find the scientist or anything more about him. But this is one of the many clues that hint at

the connection between all the droids and G0-T0, and who G0-T0 really is.

I'm pretty sure the exile says that the droid control part of goto's yacht which is right before the mine field is controlling droids on a planet wide basis. I'm also sure Bao-Dur or Atton confirms it.

It gets completed when T3 enters the droid warehouse and finds that secret room at the back where that droid is collecting ID signatures of freighters.
