DirectX

-------

Microsoft DirectX 9.0c is included on this CD. You will be

prompted to install DirectX during the installation of this

game if this or a more recent version isn't already properly

installed on your system.

NOTE: DirectX may require the "latest" updates for your

operating system. This may also include the latest drivers

for your particular motherboard, sound, and video hardware.

Installation: Installation requires 3.5 GB of free hard drive

space. We recommend that you have at least an additional 200 MB

of free space available after installing the game for the

Windows swap/page file and save games.

The biggest effect would probably be loading times, since that's when a lot of information would need to get swapped in and out of memory.

Even then, the game shouldn't necessarily run badly (assuming a good CPU and Video Card), unless it actually exceeds the amount of available memory while within a particular level and you have to go into virtual memory. And even then, it's possible to streamline the memory by making sure that the most important and frequently used calls remain in memory (or better yet cache, although cache isn't very big) so as to minimize the extent that you have to dive into virtual memory.

my computer has about 250 MB ram, I'm wondering if kotOR2 can run on my computer?

As a tech guy on the side, I have to say no. You see ths computer will rely on your HD, and you computer will bog and crash... Your Operating Syatem needs 64 to 128 depening on the version, which doesn't leave much for anything else.. Once your computer starts to touch the 'Virtual Memory' page, which is on your HD, then you could look at a full crash and burn...

Accessing Virtual memory should not crash your computer.

It will most likey affect his computer, for his RAM memory will be all filled before that, and it will crash the computer.. It will start off slugish, and then go into a crash. He only has 256MB RAM, and the OS takes at least 64MB. The game also need 256 minimum to work.

DONT TRY IT on a poor computer with borderline specs! The acceptable framerate on the initial maps might fool you into playing the game, but it only get worse as you progress to other planets, like Telos surface. (OMG)
