This arrived last week and since I've been out and about over the weekend I got to play it quite a bit.

On the most basic level its an adventure game, but one built around the capabilities of the DS. IE use of the dual screens, the mic , and of course the stylus.

The puzzles are nice and logical for the most part. And one twist is that you cant simply pick everything up just because you happen to see it. Rather before you can pick something up it needs to have some sort of purpose.

For example, you cant pick up a brush until you find something that needs to be brushed. This avoids the inventory full of useless crap that you get in these sorts of games.

It's not a hugely long game, (unless you get stuck) so if your the sort of person who plays the DS at home then it's not going to last long. It's really meant for shorter play windows.

The story is intruiging, and another story runs alongside it and at points the two overlap... The basic premise is that a girl is going to visit her father who she thought was dead until recently. Ending up on an island alone (for a time) and having to solve a series of puzzles and mysteries in order to progress.

It's a game that would only work on the DS, and as such its a good indicator of the affinity the DS has for "oldschool" adventure games (with a twist and re-thought puzzles).

I have to agree with Volourn.  Bioware is pretty much dead now.  Deals like this kills development studios.

Touchscreen makes a mouse obsolete. It's quite likely a touch screen is going to be a part of the revolutions control system, possibly with the ability to plug in DS games directly.

That seems to be the leading theory, either that or some ball-bearing gyros that can sense you moving the controller left my moving it through the air.

I have a flight stick like that, and I love it.

Cant say I'm a huge fan of twisted, or Yoshi's but it certainly has possibilities. It may even be both as Nintendo appear to be putting far more into the controller, than into the actual revolution.
