Ive always thought a lot of the sounds effects from the Transformers G1 cartoon sounded awfully familiar and as I was watching the episdoe where a Japanese scientist builds a female ninja robot(for very questionable reasons) she hauls out what is unmistakably a lightsaber with the original SW sound effects!

 

 

With that confirmed, I reviewed other episodes and found that the TIE fighter sound is often used with the jet fighter decepticons and that the doors use the same "schwoop" sound when they close among other things.

 

 

 

What is this? Wasnt LA as hardcore about protecting their copyrights back in the mid-late 80's and they are now?

I'm sure they could mount a retrospective law suit.

Perhaps they didn't copyright it in Japan? (Certainly China doesn't -- or at least didn't -- recognise international copyright law. I think they may have had to recently, to keep their "Most Favored Trading Nation" (sic) from the US ... )

 

Maybe you might get a free lightsaber if you email GL and tell him he can sue Hasbro ... then again, doesn't Hasbro make the SW action figures? Maybe they've got a deal going?

i watched the movie last night and there were definitely what looked like a couple of lightsabers. And the lightsaber ignition effect was used for some explosions too... and all that becoming one with the matrix stuff sounded a little too much like becoming one with the force.

 

 

Other weird stuff is that spike said "sh*t" and the music... oh man the music... talk about a crap score

Touch has a better placement in the movie.

I have a friend who got so fascinated by the music that he started a band project to do disgusting 80's music. He's been at it for years and his latest song is actually a clean hit! Like the McGyver theme meets Van Halen via Wham!

The band who sings the songs on the soundtrack called "Nothin's Gonna Stand In Our Way" and "Hunger" is listed on the soundtrack credits as Spectre General, but the band's name is actually Kick Axe. When the soundtrack was being assembled, they thought the name "Kick Axe" sounded too threatening, so they listed them as "Spectre General". The band was not notified about the change.

Touch has a better placement in the movie.

Agreed, however that doesn't change the fact that I can listen to Dare all day long but can't stand listening to The Touch more than 2 or 3 times at a time.
