BruntFCA
I got a keen (ie crit on 17-20) light sabre, then I got master Crit stike, (times 4 crit range). So the sabre should crit on a 5 to 20! It has massive crits mods etc, and SHOULD do Insane damge. I tested it on lots of enemies, even low armour to ensure I was geting the critical confirmation. All I can say is that crit stike sucks. It made NO difference in my attacks, in fact if I used flurry it was MUCH better, It says at the end of the description, works with MELEE weapons only. So I take this excludes Lightsabres? Does anyone know how this feat works, I think I just wasted 3 feats.... I was thinking of a power attack build, it makes no mention of melee only there, but I just dont trust the vague feet desciptions in this game. Jad'en
Do the melee feats help lightsaber attacks? No... So why would Critical Strike if it ONLY worked with melee? Eejut <_<
Fenyx
First of all-ALL melee strike-feats (flurry, crit strike, hard hit) work with lightsabre! Havent made in-depth research about crit strike, but perhaps Keen effect is not multiplied, otherwise it would be overpowered. In this case, crit range is 9-20,not 5-20 It perfectly works for me,more than half hits I make are critical. Oh,just to mention- +xxx crit damage values are not multiplied,so dont expect it make INSANE amount of damage. btw, what lightsabre are you using? 1 single bladed,2 lightsabres,or doublebladed? P.S: all above wrote with reference to KotOR 1,havent tried crit strike in KotOR 2 yet...
warstrekkid
I'm inclined to agree with Fenyx. Like in D&D(or at least NVN), I believe the rules for improved crit is 2X, unless its keen, which makes it 3X or something, just so you don't have a riduculous character(but I still did in NVN, using keen rapiers, crit on about half of the attacks!) Melee specialisation (adding certain points of attack damage) does not affect Lightsaber damage. Critical Strike is more effective using a Melee weapon. Thus this would mean that it wouldnt be a very big multiplier. And your statement above was not questioned anywhere, which just proves your a skim reader... BruntFCA
Hi, I guessed thatt maybe keen and Crit would not stack even so...it seems to work really bad,. I also undestand that the Massive crit adds. but still be sabre on a crit is capable of something like max of 100 damage. It never happens. Its a single blader-no dual wield. Something like 7-37 damage. +5 Against Dark further plus 2. then plus 2-12 for crit. I will try it again, and watch the combat logs to see if I get crits. I always seem to do best with Flurry. Flurry and speed is really good. It seems that using power attack and crit slow down attacks a lot more than they should. With greater speed I should get in 3 Greater Crit strickers per round....not sure if it does, choosing the crit seems to hose your whole turn that around. In which case I guess its still a waste of time even if it works. Why have one attack when you could have say 4 with speed and flurry...4 attacks that hit v one crit is better. Thanks for feebback and I will re-post, also let me know what you find. What I'd like to try next is a insane high strength char with power attack, but NOT if it means I lose 2 attacks per round! do it screwing up speed. Darth Brooks
Critical Strike does work with lightsabers despite the description. From what I understand, the bonuses from Master Critical and Keen stack but they don't multiply off each other. They multiply the original range and then add. For instance, a base lightsaber will crit with a roll of 19 or 20 (or 10% of the time). By itself, Keen will double the original range. This boils down to adding 10% (or 2) to the threat range. Master Critical will quadruple the original range, adding 30% (or 6) to the threat range. Used together, you get 50% chance of hitting a critical, original 10% plus Keen 10% plus Master Critical 30% (or 11-20). Multiple Keens don't stack. Darth Brooks
Why have one attack when you could have say 4 with speed and flurry...4 attacks that hit v one crit is better. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It pretty much goes as follows and it's completely up to your tastes: Flurry = Additional chance to hit (or miss) with your current attack bonus with no penalties. Critical Strike = Double damage 40% (50% if Keen) of the time. Triple if you use the correct form. Power Attack = Guaranteed bonus damage if you hit. Triple damage (including triple your Power Attack Bonus) if you crit. Quadruple damage if you crit and you're using the correct form.

"Read and understand next time before you go flame your head off." I never stated that melee weapon profiency add damage to lightsabre. I never said anything about weapon specialization feats either. What I said is that all strike based feats, the ones you have to click on enemy to use (flurry, crit strike and hard hit) work exactly same way with lightsabres,as they would work with melee weapon. Can you give reference to some numbers, how crit strike exactly works better with vibro sword, rather than with light sabre (concidering that LS and VS have same threat range and damage capabilities) Because for the moment being, your statement that crit strike is more effective, and assaults on me,are nothing, but empty words from big mouthed kid.
