Judge Hades Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 Um, no. The Spring Celebration of the Pagan religions were taken over by Easter. Frankly how they determine Easter is directly linked to the Spring Equinox (or is is Solstice).
jaguars4ever Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 I hate Easter. Its just another fake holiday. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Happy Easter to you Hades - may you revile it with devout vituperation. ^_^
Gorth Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 Um, no. The Spring Celebration of the Pagan religions were taken over by Easter. Frankly how they determine Easter is directly linked to the Spring Equinox (or is is Solstice). Something like the first Sunday after the first fullmoon after spring equinox (I'm not kidding). “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Baley Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 Well from what I remeber the Christian Ortodox church sets Easter by the following rules: 1.Always on Sunday. 2. Easter is set on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox. Easter is also considered to be spring's holiday. The Egg was a symbol of rebirth in Egypt. For the Jews it represented leaving Egypt
Judge Hades Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 In any case it is a fake holiday for Christianity. Just like Christmas, All Saint's Day, and so on.
Ludozee Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 So who cares if it's fake? You don't hear me complaining when I get a whole week off =)
