LadyCrimson
Where do you find this file? All I see is a dialogs.bif “Things are as they are. Darth Nuke
clearly I don't know how to do this Notepad, dialog thing. If someone will tell me exactly what Notepad is(might have an idea) I'll take it from there. KOTOR 2 must be completed
darth spock
clearly I don't know how to do this Notepad, dialog thing. If someone will tell me exactly what Notepad is(might have an idea) I'll take it from there. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Okay, open up your KotOR 2 directory. I believe the default is C:\Program Files\Lucas Arts\Knights of the Old Republic II. (I put mine on a different drive). Anyways, once you are there, you get a list of folders such as data, Docs, launcher, StreamVoice, etc. Scroll to find the file dialog.tlk. Double click on it and your computer should send you a message saying it doesn't know what program to use to open it. You can either select to use a Web service to find a program but select your own. So select that option and open the program with Notepad. Hopefully you know what Notepad is... the program that comes with Windows that is used to type out things. There's no font changes or anything fancy like that. It's just a basic word processor. Once you've opened dialog.tlk up in Notepad, just hold down Ctrl and F and then release to get a search box. Type part of the conversation in the search box and then hit "enter". If it's a dialog, there are no spelling errors, and everything is done right, you should be warped to the conversation. It's text that's often hard to decipher who is saying what but if you remember the dialogue between the characters pretty well you should be able to understand who is saying what. Hope this helps. If it doesn't just say so and I'll try to help you out. Darth Nuke
Well just in case I screw something up, or don't know what I'm doing. Canderous says something like, "Mercenaries fight for the money, not the honor." KOTOR 2 must be completed

Sorry this hasnt been much help to you... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm just dumb when it comes to computers, or at least this stuff. Exact line could cause a problem, but this might be it. "Mercenaries fight for money, not the honor." Somewhere in that league. KOTOR 2 must be completed
LadyCrimson
I found it. It's on the play CD, not on the hard drive...at least with the default install. If you open it in notepad, the first half is a lot of symbol garbage, the bottom half is readable, with everything mashed together into one long run on thing. Difficult to read, but interesting. “Things are as they are.
