Ersinus Posted August 7, 2004 Posted August 7, 2004 5) Malak knew EXACTLY where you were going to be at every star map? But does he blow those planets up? Does he reinforce those planets with legions of sith minions? No, out of the two planets that he blew up, neither of them were ones that could have hidden his super factory forever. And he only sends two incompetent guys after you. i think you are wrong in this one.the man is inwar with the republic, there is not enough time to destroy every planet, cause you need dozen of star destroyers to destroy a planet. He had a huge fleet, but not big enough to spare a big percent of it by destroying planets instead of fighting the republic. There was a battle on Taris System before revan escaped on the planet. So Malak there had the enough fire power to destroy the planet.
Chemix Posted August 7, 2004 Posted August 7, 2004 the rakatan computer says that the star forge served a dual purpose. First off as a factory, and secondly as a fully armed battle dreadnaught. As far as I see it, a stationary object isn't much of a dreadnaught.
Rubber Ducky Posted August 8, 2004 Posted August 8, 2004 I beleive that it may have been mobile, but its current location was ideal. First of all, the Republic had no idea that there were any Sith at all in that remote area, allowing uninterrupted production of warships. second, if he brought it into battle, the Republic would know that it was the driving force behind the Sith and send their entire fleet after it to destroy it. Here's my logic. This is about combat value. Droid=1 Fighter=10 Capital Ship=100000 Star Forge= 100000000000000000 THe Star Forge is obviously thousands of times more powerful than anything it produces. However, if it's pumping out a capital ship or two every day, plus hundreds of fighters and thousands of droids, it makes up for itself, if not in raw power, then in versatility. The Star Forge, no matter how powerful, can only be in one place at any given moment. However, the unbeleivable numbers it's spitting it out can go separate ways in mass. Although they may not be powerful enough to destroy entire worlds on their own, these little divisions can be holding their own at opposite ends of the Galaxy. WHy didn't he turn it to dreadnaught mode when it was attacked? Turning a factory the size of a small planet into a warship the size of a small planet would definately take more than the hour or so that the battle happened in. It would also probably reveal some serious openings mid-transformmation that could cripple the entire operation.
