Hey there, I was just wondering, do characters get used to using specific weapons? I'm asking because I didn't see any other topics like this and it would help me if I got some sort of confirmation.

For example, if I had Atton use blaster pistols for ages and then I gave him a vibroblade.....would he be any good with it?

Only if you invest points in them. I think their "to hit" scores improve everytime they level up as well so they become more effective with all weapons not just those equipped at the time.

Oh right thanks! I think I'll train Atton in the ways of the vibroblade!

Only the way you spend Feats makes a different

(And if the weapon has attack modifiers)

 

No good to give somebody dual pistols if he has max dueling, no two-weapons feat and max melee weapons, but only lvl 1 blaster pistol

(That would be the worst possible way to equip a teammate)
