Autobots, Transform and Roll Out!

Thanks for the info deganawida. I do remember reading some Joe comics when I was in middle school. I was at a party and discovered my friend had this entire box full of them.

So instead of partying I secluded myself from everyone and spent the entire day reading them. Needless to say I was quickly pointed out as a nerd who would rather read comics than party but school popularity be damned, those comics were fun. I remember them being quite visceral, with people actually get hit by the guns and dying! Something the cartoons didn't show.

I'm gonna have to check them out again.

Partying is overrated. Nerds 4 evah.

The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.

Two questions, I have a vague memory that the original pilot of Blue Lion was not the Princess but someone else....anyone know? Also there was another Voltron too. Not nearly as cool as the Lion Voltron. Is this a Voltron from another time or what? On the other side of the Galaxy Voltron?

1.) Man was this a long time ago. If I remember correctly it was a guy that was hurt or killed or lost early on in the show thus forcing the Princess into action. Remember the mentor was charged with protecting the Princess so he didn't want her to help in any way.

2.) There were actually quite a few Voltrons, but the one you were taling about had futuristic vehicles and yes didn't look as cool. I think he was just in a differen't part of the universe as there was one or 2 episodes were the lion voltron made an appearance.

You want to talk about good shows how about Thundar the Barbarian, Space Ghost, Birdman, Galtar, and Mask man the eighties were a great time to grow up in.

Thundarr was awesome. I used to watch that show religiously. Space Ghost was awesome as well, but what was even better were Cartoon Planet and Space Ghost Coast to Coast. The 80s had some great cartoons.

Man, I can't seem to remember any of those, except for Mask. That was pretty cool too. It was the cartoon with the transforming vehicles and the guys with Masks right?

I used to watch Transformers, Voltron, Robotech, Thundercats, G.I. Joe and The Muppet Babies....hey I was like 6 or 7. Oh yeah and I remember the Silverhawks too.

Back in the day, I used to watch Transformers, G.I. Joe, Thudercats, Muppet Babies, He-Man and when I became a little bigger kid --->Teenage Muttant Ninja Turtles, and when I became an even bigger bigger kid--->X-Men and Spider Man. :(

Incidently, I still watch the Simpsons.

1.  They combined into Superion.  Silverbolt was the Concorde who was afraid of heights.  Incidently, Jetfire was the first flying Autobot (and one of my all-time faves).  He was called Skyfire in the cartoons, and was a pacifist instead of the warrior-scientist of the toy.  Jetfire was a repaint of some Robotech toy, as well.

Jetfire and Skyfire were different characters, from memory. I believe the reason Jetfire wasn't in the cartoon was due to some argument between Takara and Hasbro (from memory, I could be wrong).

I remember Super Friends and Dungeons and Dragons being pretty cool when I was a kid. I don't know about Thundarr, it doesn't quite hold up nowadays but Space Ghost was my Idol!!

Heh, How could I forget He Man? By the power of Castle Grayskull!

I still have this tape recording of me and a friend pretending to be He Man. Of course later we get into a fight about who actually gets to be He Man and then all you can hear are scuffling noises.

It's pretty hilarious.

And I still think Masters of the Universe is one entertaining piece of cinema. I saw it with my father at the theaters. Dolph Lundgren as He Man threw me off for a bit because I still had him pegged as the evil Russian boxer who killed Apollo but he grew on me.

I'm gonna rent it next time I'm in a Video Store.

Remember the scene with the Man-at-Arms and his daughter eating fast food? Gold. ^_^
