KoToRfReAk Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 how come kotor didnt have day n night? i mean the n 64 game zelda had it wtf? i think it would be cool to have pitch black lightsaber battles or have night vision goggles for the non forcers and force power that let u see in the dark i think its coll so...
GhostofAnakin Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 I believe the devs stated something about it putting too much of a strain on the engine. "Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)
Darth Ni Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 nevertheless, its a good idea but you would have to retexture all the worlds so its probably going to take forever however, it would be good for kotor III
Influence Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 There will be WEATHER effects in the new game. so hey, take what u can get. Plus how much would that really effect the game? Not worth the trouble in my opinion. WEather effex are good enough for me
zion22 Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 haw good would have tatooween look fighting darth bandon on the dunes at night the flash of the saber's the bilts of blasterfire, arwell KOTER 3
Craftsman Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Yeh. The lighting effects would be amazing.
alanschu Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 haw good would have tatooween look fighting darth bandon on the dunes at night the flash of the saber's the bilts of blasterfire, arwell KOTER 3 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That would probably be a huge part of the problem. If you look closely in KOTOR 1, the lightsabers don't actually give off light (which is probably why it "cost" too much in terms of performance). It would not be too impressive if there were night sequences where the lightsaber didn't actually light things up. As for retexturing...you don't need to do that for less light (which is all that darkness would be doing).
