Exar Dulo
Bioware have made an excellent game with very cool story and characters. However they haven't done theyr job as i expected. Main weaknesses (by me) are the combat and the character development. I also have some advices about the "look" of the game... 1.COMBAT - The comabt is generaly not bad and in the first few hours it's looking incredebly good. But as we advance in gameplay it becomes more boring and boring. Why? First, the characters (when they are engaged in combat) always stay in one place when they fight and that's making the whole battle stupid. If one of the combatants (e.g. in lightsaber duel) is weaker he will step back to be able to parry his opponent attacks. That looks very logical and inserted in the game will realy make the battle more dynamic and interessting. Second, there were too little attack animations (e.g. one for Power Attack, Flury, CS and maybe no more than five-seven for "normal attack"). That, again, makes the battle boring. Third, the attack animations are so fast, that even when constantly pausing, you cannot see them in slow motion. They are also too complicated and effective (looking effective:) and from the very beginning you have the feeling that your character is a lightsaber god. That is not autentic and by me is a bad decission by Bioware. Please, don't forget the basic attacks, swings and parries! They will surely make the battle better. Make the attacks slower( watch Episode II and VI for the correct speed). Please!... (it will be god if you make the lightsaber beams look more like these in the movie!) 2.CLOTHES - The clothes in KotOR were ,with one word, badly created. First, in combat they (and the hair too) don't move and stay in one place the whole time. Second, there was only one model of jedi robes! Diffirent colours don't make things better. There mus be many models because anyone wants his hero to look good. 3.FOR THE GAME ITSELF... - Bioware made an excellent game but it can hardly be played for second or third time, because almost all quests are there again and you don't have a chance to miss them the first time. You know how boring is this. With simple words - KotOR was "linear". The game was creating an illusion for freedom, but if we look closely we'll see that we are guided the whole time! YOU ALMOST DON'T HAVE TWO CHOICES FOR SOLVING A SINGLE QUEST! Light-Dark side decissions aren't enough! I'm sure you'll know what to do... Also, the game gave you too litle place to explore or do something different than solving stupid little quests and endless stupid, simple fighting! But i must calm down... Anger leads to the Dark Side...( "Only if you knew the power of the Dark Side!..."-points Vader:) Enough stupid points... 4.DIFFICULTY - KotOR was a very very easy game. The only reason for loading was quest-solving.(well... there was some difficult fights, but...) Please, make the game more chalenging! (and PLEASE, different ways to solve these chalenges! Not only LIGHT-DARK and simple hack&slash-this is not Diablo). 5. And an advice for your future projects. The story must be linked more with the characters. Any story like "saving the world" is becoming more and more boring with every game release. Planesacape (and BG II too) are good examples of what the fans want. Don't be tempted to make games like NWN (i'm speaking for the "Single player" it has good multi) and concentrate on good story, characters and combat (i like real turn-based (ToEE, Fallout), but they're, maybe, hard to sell). May the Force be with you. Exar Dulo <_<

A couple thins i dislikes in the first were not being to actaully play as a sith, you could only watch a cut scene of it. I am going to be very happy with Kotor 2, and if you look at some of the screen shots then you would see that they are doing flips and more moves

Fearless_Jedi
Hey man, I agree with the better battles thing and the better clothes thing full heartedly. But hopefully there new changes will help that although I have to admit some of the new animations I saw for KotOR II looked really gay, IMHO. I mean I saw one which was a weak power attack animation and the guy just jumped up and slashed down....wasn't very dynamic after all. And the weak flurry animation was a guy swinging his lightsaber back in forth over the character and that looked wrong, just wrong. It made me want to cry. If they are gonna add crappy animations like that then just keep the old, repetative movements from the first game. Personally I would like to see several different forms of lightsaber combat. For instance, several different types of fighting with just one blade. Like Dooku and Obi-Wan they both fought differently and those are the sort of choices I want to have. But about the whole difficulty thing....I actually found some parts of that game to be quite hard like the duel with Bendak and the fight with Davek. And the puzzels in the Sith tomb where challenging too. Finally, yeah the game is kinda linear, but u cant have everything. So if it just like KOTOR was then i will be fine.
