well, we've played over the net for a while- using skype for voice chat and a net-based dice rolling program. worked pretty fine as all of us had flatrates, but it gets difficult after a while... too many lags- and its just not the same thing.

eliminates the "group members moving away" problem though

It's very hard to be polite if you're a cat.

In one campaign we had a Kuwaiti Princess doing video conferencing gaming from UCLA-Riverside. She played a Giant Eagle Druid. It was a strange campaign where everyone had an awakened animal as character.

I had a half gold dragon monkey monk. One had a Ferret Rogue while the last guy had a badger.

I'd love to give video-conferencing RPing a try. I've RPed in most venues and styles.

But I loved my regular group so much over the years, that most groups have really disappointed me.

Nothing beats gaming with your mates.

I've been a part of a Call of Cthulhu group for about five years now; of course since I started graduate school (in another country nonetheless) it's been a lot harder to get together. I'm home for the summer, and just started a Cthulhu Dark Ages campaign with my group, which will probably be my last hurrah before I finish grad school, get married and become 'respectable.'

Like that's possible
