Hello everyone.

Not quite sure what is the best way to describe this situation in this thread, but still. I'm on a quest A Shrewd Proposition, Cruel Cargo and Fruitful Alliance. The point is, my main character is a Bleak Walker, after I kill all the slave traders in the fort and talk to Handsome Eliam I have only two options - tell him that he is free (Benevolent dispostition which is bad for a Bleak Walker) and take him as a slave - which for me is basically ok, but in this case I have Serafen leaving the team because he hates the slave trade and all that. And I don't know what to do. From the point of view of playing the role I don't need slaves at all, I kill slave traders not because I want to free slaves but because I got such a task from Onekaza and the Wahaki tribe, I have a lawfully evil character who takes contracts seriously and is honest. Why is there no way to just tell him that I don't care and I killed the slave traders not to save him, but simply because I am fulfilling the task and let him go wherever he wants? I even let that green clothed merchant buy him during the auction to resolve the situation, but even if he is bought, he doesn't go anywhere and still stands where he is. I freed Wahaki so they would mutiny and kill everyone, I thought they would take him away with them or he would run away if I didn't activate the auction scene, but he still stands in his place in all situations and when talking to him it's the same. Maybe I'm being picky, but for me it hits hard on the immersion in the world of the game, this situation. If only not to talk to him at all, but it's kind of silly, I understand he will forever stand there in an empty fort where I slaughtered all the slave traders. What do you think I should do?

Translated through an online translator - I hope everything is clear.

If I didn't want to deal with either Serafen's departure or picking up one benevolent point then I'd just leave.

Btw: one benevolent decision doesn't influence your stats yet if that's for first time - unless it's a major one. Don't remember in this case, but it could well be that your disposition counter won't change yet. You could check on you character sheet under the right tab before and after.

Then you can see it as "what do I care if people interpret this as benevolent?"

You could also argue that you do Berath a service (saving a Death Godlike) - she's your ultimate task giver in this game.

Thank you for your reply.

I've never done anything that would give me a benevolent disposition. And if I free him by saying he's no longer a slave, I immediately earn one benevolent disposition point. I checked it out. And if I then say he can join my ship's crew, I get two benevolent disposition points immediately.

In my opinion and by the lore of the game, Bleak Walkers should maintain a terrifying and violent reputation. It is a reputation among people, meaning they care what people think of their actions. So I can't say to myself ‘So what if people think my actions are benevolent?’.

In my playthrough, my main character himself is a Death Godlike. I imported him from the first part of the game. And he is also against the gods and wants to do everything to destroy them or at least mess with them. So doing favours for Beras is clearly not in his plans. And he's only doing the task for Berath because he'd die otherwise and his life is on the hook for Berath.

Why do you care about him? Don't talk to him, if he wanna stay in the fort for the next seven centuries is only his business, don't you think?
You accomplish your task, turn on your heels and go away, if I were you I wouldn't even notice him.
You have also other possibilities such as drop Serafen before the quest or kill Handsome Eliam before talking to him. In this last case you wouldn't be benevolent and he wouldn't stand there as a muppet ;)
