I am talking once? First Contact. Maybe even a couple of alien civilizations that interact with each other?

Given they used aliens as a plot hook for a joke quest, I'm guessing there won't be any.

I always thought about TOW as Fallout successor - no aliens needed.

The experiment on humans was NOT the vaults but the colony (and corpo products), and the game basically is satire on human nature, political systems and ideas (capitalism, communism, anarchy etc.) and of course corporations.

What I want to say is there is a lot of ideas to explore already so I'd like aliens to come up only if there is a good reason for it.

"Red Dwarf " solution - there are none (at least in that time and particular ehhh..space?) is OK by me.

To continue the tradition of "Mysterious conspiracy quest that ends in cliff hanger and doesn't answer question".

Or at the very least as a joke follow up for Hagen's tin foiled quest.

I don’t think we will see sentient aliens. That would open a can of worms and move Outer World toward different kind of space fiction.
