Andres Arigon Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 Hey, Maybe it is not the most OPTIMAL and to be honest, I love playing off-meta build. I love playing Ice mage and I wonder if it is possible to build an Ice mage in this game? Have someone tried to build a pure Ice mage in this game? Any feedback?
Not So Clever Hound Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 Hey, Definitely! Some of the best damage/CC wizard spells are freeze based. You just need backup damage for freeze immunes but that is no trouble with the grimoire mechanic. Single class and almost any multiclass can be great, but I would especially recommend Wizard/Chanter because: Animated Weapons are freeze immune so no risk of friendly fire with them Chanter has Her Tears and Eld Nary invocations which fit very very well thematically Freeze focused Loremaster is an absolute beast.
Andres Arigon Posted January 2, 2022 Author Posted January 2, 2022 I was thinking more Fury druid / Wizard or pure Wizard (transmutation) but I am going to check Wizard/Chanter 1

A pure Transmuter locks you out of Enchanting and Evocation, and that truly sucks IMO. So if SC, I'd advise No Subclass or Bloodmage.

With a party assist, it is maybe convenient, otherwise confortable, to specialize any character : I have a SC transmuter in the Inn, he is great to play. But he is a disabler, not a freezing Wizard : I'm agree with Not So Clever Hound, if you focus on freeze damage your build, No Subclass or Bloodmage as MC/SC wizard is top! 1
