Are you on Game Pass (Xbox or PC)? Because if you are try reinstalling the game so that the cloud saves can resync. If you're on steam then I don't know what to tell you.

This game has 2 pop up and its stated at the main title screen "this game isn't complete and can crash at any time. This is what happens when you play a pre-release game. So if you can't handle it then..... Bye!!

Did you update to the latest patch, 0.2.2?

This. As far as I know, the latest patch addresses the file corruption/crashing. My friend and I were having a lot of trouble loading saves until it got patched.

Do keep in mind, too, that the game is pre-release. Making suggestions and reporting bugs is all part of it.
