How to continue after finishing main story?

I have just completed the game. When I finish the credits and all it takes me to the main menu and when I go load back into the game it takes me back to where I open the door doctor phinies and it won't let me continue the game.

Once you beat the game you beat the game, you cant continue afterwords unless you have a save at the "point of no return"
