I found one more way to infinitely gain reputation with a companion.

After completing Xoti's vision quest, and convincing her to release gathered souls into a luminous adra pillar Watcher can ask Xoti how her is she sleeping now. Her answer is positive and she states she will remember who helped her (minor reputation gain). This conversation can be repeated indefinitely.

No it's not a bug. By design Xoti occasionally suffers from amnesia   .
