Hey guys, I'm trying to make a good main character that has good RP (conversations), isnt boring to play, and feels like the star of the party.  In your guys's extensive knowledge and testing...is a there any synergy with a Shifter/ Ranger (maybe Ghost Heart or Stalker) or a Shifter/ Soulblade or any cipher/ druid?  I definitely prefer mixing it up between melee and ranged and not being locked down strictly into the back lines.    

Anyway, be careful because Ghost Heart pet count as a summon and would prevent use of Druid summons.

When I tried shifter / soul blade it was really bad because soul annihilation was counted as a spell and thus disabled while shifted. Some other type of life giver, ancient or animist could work with soul blade if you build around firebrand. You’ll get lots of penetration and accuracy and soul annihilation does well with the great sword modal.

 

I’ve been tempted by arcane archer / soul blade as a fun, but probably not optimized class combo. But soul annihilation, while penalized for being a spell for shifters, doesn’t count as a spell for arcane archers, so doesn’t get around their accuracy penalty.

Ive done an arcane archer / fury druid before. Probably not what you are after being mainly backline. I used essence interrupter stacked lightning and used the fury shift to get an extra bounce on the arcane archer imbued shots.

 

I have considered shifter/ascendant and playing like a rogue. Go in build up focus, shift out dump spells shift into another form rinse and repeat. Wouldnt be optimal but something different.

Arcane Archer/Fury sounds like a lot of fun. You'd get a second bounce from Driving Flight, right?

Yeah you do, its quite powerful and very fun. I did use the imbue web alot mixed with a wiz for reflex spells.
