Playing this for the first time and the fights are definitely harder, more loot though. Which leads me to a question, are the Mega Bosses harder too? That could make them really challenging.

Obviously, they are harder.

To fight mega boss you should use an appropriate specific tactic, party setup/solo build and gear. They may seem hard until you have all the mentioned above

Thanks, I have beaten them in standard difficulty so will see how this goes. Since I just left Port Maje, not going there for a while yet.
