Can someone explain what the small red symbols mean ?

post-168954-0-68571900-1542060227_thumb.jpeg

I think i know what afflictions are but i have no clue what the gui is trying to tell me here with the red symbols right besides of the affliction name. Especially the firts red symbol that looks like a red X.

I think they represent the corresponding negative effect that will cancel the positive effect, in this case a perception / will effect will cancel it.

“How do you 'accidentally' kill a nobleman in his own mansion?"

"With a knife in the chest. Or, rather, a pair of knives in the chest...”

It means that they'll be countered by status effects which affect that attribute. You have a Perception bonus and an Intellect bonus; if something gives you a Perception or Intellect debuff then the bonus will be removed. If you have an ice spell it'll be countered by fire, etc

Those are actually Inspirations. The symbols are meant to communicate which Afflictions can cancel those Inspirations out.

EDIT: got ninja’d twice over.

So the red X has no special meaning ? I always thought it was strange that there was this additional red X in addition to the red eye/head per line. Thank you all  for your input.
