Summon Skeleton Invocation Disappears After Upgrade

My chanter (beckoner) just upgraded the summon skeletons invocation. However, once I do that, I can no longer cast it from the hotbar in combat. Its as if that skill doesn't exist.

I tried retaining her but the skills still doesn't appear. Everything still seams to work fine.

As I understand it, a skill appears in your hotbar once you've used it several times, but by upgrading it, it kind of "resets". Almost as if it were a completely new skill. But I'm guessing that it will appear in your hotbar again if you keep using it.

it's effectively a new skill at the new power level. So it won't show up in PL1, it'll show up in PL3.

You are entirely correct, I can't believe I didn't spot that before.
