Question

So,

I beat the Beast of Winter on one of my end-game saves. Then I loaded up a level 6ish party in PotD (different difficulty level as well). I noticed that all of the quests for the DLC were still listed in my Journal. The quests I had completed in my end-game save were greyed out and said completed, while one that I never finished on my end-game save still had the last objective listed as my next objective.

I got up to a higher level yesterday and decided to try a run at it. When I got to the location, the dialog seems to work properly - but only to a point.

The initial camera cut worked when I arrived at the island and it transitioned properly to the narrative parchment screen. After that I went to see Harbinger vatnir. His sermon cinematic never came on, and he won't talk to me. He just gives me the generic popup response - no dialog box.

Unsure if anything can be done to resolve this issue. Wondering if anyone else has the problem.

Hey everyone,

This is definitely an issue we are still investigating at the moment.  A very useful thing if you would be so, kind would be a save file that has completed the Beast of Winter DLC, and a save file of a different character that has NOT completed the DLC but is being treated as if they had.  If needed, you can find instructions on where to find your save files here.  You can either provide a link to your files via Dropbox or you may attach them to an email for us at support@obsidian.net. If you do email us, please link this post and mention your forum username so that we may identify you easily.

This would be an amazing help if you happen to have these.

Thank you so much, and sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

No problem.

1st character, with whom I played through DLC without any issues:
pre-DLC autosave:

autosave after completing DLC:

Here is my previously submitted save of my 2nd character who have encountered the issue:

Hey SChin,

Appreciate the response!

Here are a few files.

Beast of Winter Complete:

Beast of Winter Unplayable (Appears Complete)

The following save has not been opened up since way before Beast of Winter was released (its from 5/23/18) but was present in my game as I completed the DLC. Not sure if it might tell you anything. Not sure if this save has problems or will have problems, but passing it along can't hurt - right? (3rd Character Save)

Thanks again SChin!!

Hey everyone,

Programming got back to me about this bug and what would need to be done as their fix went in the 3.0.0.0012 patch.

Prior to the fix, if you had character A finish the Beast of Winter DLC and loaded a save from character B, that save file would become affected by the bug.  The fix unfortunately can't retroactively fix that affected save, but if you now load an earlier save for character B that had not been loaded and saved over at the time of the bug, then you should be good to go and be able to progress the DLC normally without the issue.

I hope this clears things up and is able to get you folks back on track to do the DLC on your other characters.  Any new characters should also be unaffected since the fix has gone in.  if for some reason this does not seem to be the case, please let me know and I will have the Programming team investigate the issue again.

Thanks everyone, and sorry for the inconvenience this has been causing.

Its great news to hear that it was all fixed up!! Of course it is unfortunate that the fix doesn't apply to affected saves, but its understandable.

Thanks for all the hard work - keep it up :D
