July 3, 20187 yr I'm looking into making a Spellblade that focuses on dual wielding melee weapons and uses wizard spells for buffs and debuffs. Right now I'm planning on using Grave Calling and Hel Beckoning for weapons, Devil's Breastplate or Miscreant's Leather for armor, and Arkemyr's Illuminating Discoveries for the grimoire. What I'm wondering is what subclasses are best for this (in 1.2 beta), what accessories I should look to equip, and any potential pitfalls to what equipment I've decided on. Already beat the game with a Battlemage on hard, but no experience with Spellblade. Character will be a hired mercenary for new dlc, and if I like it a new playthrough. July 3, 20187 yr I really like nazlpaca for my Monk/no subclass wizard. I use the skeleton mage grimoire ( forget the exact name) as it's got decent selection of the self buff spells I like to use. The nice part about the subclass is you'll want to go alchemy to compliment your Monk, and there are a couple wizard poison spells at PL3 and i think 4 that scale with alchemy and hit anything that isn't poison immune like a truck. For anything else, your wizard buffs along with drugs give you lots of wounds and still very good damage.
July 4, 20187 yr Streetfighter/Wizard (no sub) at the moment. Not very future proof, I'm expecting Streetfighter nerfs in the future, consider Trickster instead (looks like it synergises with your plan too). I recommend putting all points in Survival and using Mohora Tanga. Also max Stealth and take Stalker's Patience for offhand. Alternatively, Kapana Taga feels like the most universal weapon for offhand, and Min's Fortune looks like it would be cool for RP purposes (with Fortune's Folly upgrade). Make sure you pick Confounding Blind, unless a party member provides it.
July 4, 20187 yr Yeah, Street Fighter is becoming the new Shattered Pillar, but Monk has so many buffs it keeps evading the nerf-stick.
