  1. Hi, I was excited to play Avowed on both my PC and Xbox Series X but was disappointed to find out that the game doesn't support full screen with resolution options on PC. This is a kind of game that just plays better with mouse and keyboard. I have a fairly powerful PC (Ryzen 5, 7800 XT, 48GB RAM) but I got it connected to my 43" 4k gaming TV. The game by default in full screen runs in 4k as it's my obvious chosen Windows resolution. I do not support nor do I like upscalers as it makes the games ugly with all the visual artifacts, so I tend to run my games in native resolution (usually at 1440p). At the moment the game runs at a terrible 35-45fps in the locked 4k state. A simple resolution option will fix this issue just like all the other 99% of games, especially from a AAA stand point. Yes, I know I can change the internal resolution but why must I for just one program? Yes, FSR is there but I'll rather suffer the lost frames instead. But a simple resolution switch with borderless/fullscreen mode will fix this problem for thousands of gamers out there. Much obliged, an Obsidian fan.
  2. Hello there my little droogs, I'm having a problem finding where to change the resolution to 3440x1440. I've read forums where people are complaining about not getting ultrawide in cinematics but I'm not bothered about that as long as I can play the game in the right resolution, because as it stands I have the following options: Fullscreen 2560x1440 max res; Windowed fullscreen 2752x1152 fixed (greyed out); Windowed 1835x1146 max res. Is there an option to play it at the proper resolution by normal means i.e. just in the graphics options, and if not, is there another way like altering the .ini files? At this point in the game most modern releases have the option for ultrawide monitors so it seems a bit odd that I'm not seeing the option. Oh and I'm playing it through Xbox Game Pas like I suspect a lot of you are (£1 for the first month ;b). Many thanks! Over and out . . .
  3. I just purchased Pillars of Eternity, and whenever i have tried to run the game it crashes on startup, and i get the following text: Switching to resolution 3x0 failed, trying lower one Switching to resolution 3x0 failed, trying lower one All resolution switches have failed Screen: could not switch resolution (1920x1080 fs=1 hz=0) Can anyone please help me find a solution? Otherwise I'm going to have to get a refund on steam cos no way am I keeping a broken game in the hope it magically fixes itself in some future update.
