I thought you were talking about the ability to change class/starting attributes. I've never encountered a loss of abilities while using respec feature. Though if you mean bonus stats or abilities from 3rd party sources such as trainers, well I would say that respecing would probably remove them as a respec is inherently a reset of abilities back to factory settings. That doesn't seem like a big either, simply a feature set some people would like. There is a difference between a feature not working as people would like or they think is missing and what a bug encompasses: bugs are explicitly unintended behavior as a result of coding errors.
When you respec you lose all your Watcher abilities and the only way to get them back is via the console. Are you going to claim that's intended behaviour?

Yeah, that's the one. Glad you like it! I'm very fond of it too.
It's a very cool item. Which item did you create in PoE if you don't mind me asking.

You're talking about abilities that are exceptionally broken, rather than representative of 'martial classes' as a whole.
The exact same is true of Meteor Shower and Wizards: it's exceptionally broken and not representative of the class as a whole. Only difference is it's a high level ability rather than one available before leaving Port Maje.
I stand by my comment, people whined that Wizards were going to be useless, and they are really rather good.
Again, no they weren't. People were well aware that Wizards were viable in the beta (when this "whining" was taking place), just that there was a big disparity in power between them and the martial classes. Based on the information available in the beta this was definitely true. Even post release I'd say it's true, although less so at high levels.

This guy is saying he can one-shot entire encounters with one spell.
Doesn't sound underpowered to me at all.
It's not underpowered no, but they are underpowered compared to (some) martial classes. Meteor Shower is overpowered right now yes, but it's PL 9. Fighters get cleave stance at (iirc) PL 2 and that trivialises the game. Similarly with Monks and Swift Flurry. The whole balance is broken right now. The game's a cakewalk on PotD by the time you get PL 9 abilities (actually long before) regardless of class.
-
Remember when people said Wizards were gonna be useless?
People didn't say they were going to be useless. They said they would be underpowered compared to martial classes. They are.

I'm really not sure it's a bug. It seems legit to me; if Eder dies before he joins your party...he doesn't join your party.
Agreed. It makes perfect sense.

When's that Alcohol Themed DLC out again?
To avoid bugs Obsidian have to make sure they thoroughly test the new alcohols. After that they need to recover from their collective hangovers. Only then will the DLC be released.

Oh i forgot if you hold sacred the 6 party member crpg then stay away. LUL. They go down to 4 characters. otherwise go for it.
Hah, no worries on that front. Four us fine by me.

Blunderbi?
It's not from Latin so no.

Seems like a worthwhile thing to buy next time its on sale.

I think it's a holdover from PoE's DR system, where Raw damage was a lot better (and so needed lower values to be balanced). I agree that in Deadfire it's too low.

Both of them are very clear that they've had their souls transferred into the container that currently houses said souls, so I'd say they are vessels, just of a different sort.
Yeah, but then that kinda begs the question "what was so great about Galvino's creation of Devil?" The whole thing was that she wasn't a mindless automata, but neither are those two.
-
Indeed. The concrete existence of a soul in Eora makes the question more complicated. I'd tend to take the view that all vessels we meet (apart from Devil) are dead, since they take the form of classical undead or mindless automata* but Devil is a more complicated case certainly.
*Actually I'm not sure whether the throne lady of Caed Nua and the chief animancer in Defiance bay are vessels or not?

Famous last words?
In before Twinned Shot becomes the most powerful ability after nerfs to everything else.

No no no, Devil of Caroc was not dead, she was a construct. She never died, her mind was transferred *while she was still alive*. Theoretically her body wouldn't even have died after her soul left it, until it was killed by some outside force--witness both the Hollowborn, whose bodies are alive, and Berath's statement that your body is breathing and your heart pumping in the material world while your talking to her in the In-Between.
I think this becomes a philosophical question about what being "dead" means in a world where your soul can, and often does, survive your body's destruction.
If we're going by what happened to her original physical body then I strongly suspect the villagers who wanted her executed didn't leave it intact after he soul was transferred, so she's almost certainly dead by those standards. If we're going by what happens to her soul after her physical body dies then a lot of people who are obviously dead in game aren't actually dead (Persok for example isn't dead, since his soul is fine and in another vessel).

You can manage to beat the first encounter in Stalwart at lvl 8 or so. Lvl 6 if you are really good.
It's confirmed, I'm really good

I finally bought all the extra content for Tyranny and preparing for the 3rd playthrough.
I've never played it. Is it worth a go?

You killed him. He's dead now. Dead people don't join your party.
Devil was technically dead Concelhaut too, though it's not clear whether he really joined your party.

It looks like they've patched it out (deliberately or otherwise), as my Berserker multi from release has Spirit Tornado.
Doubt it was intentional since there's a bug report on it with a developer reply treating it like a bug. Fingers crossed it'll be fixed soon.

I've decided to hold off playing Deadfire for a while to let the balance changes happen before I get attached to any particular items *cough* Unlabored Blade *cough*. I'll take the time to run through PoE in preparation.

I always thought it might be might old trusted Outworn Buckler but have not had the heart to let him die yet.
Don't worry, you're not missing out, it's just a pair of Helwaxed Legendary Bittercuts with Corrosive Lashes and Durgan steel enhancements. Nothing major

You get the final levels of Frenzy, they're in tier 7.
Currently Berserkers don't. It's almost certainly a bug since there are Berserker versions of all four upgraded Frenzies (Blood Frenzy, Spirit Frenzy, Blood Storm and Spirit Tornado) but they can only actually take Blood Frenzy.

Chiputec... not always.
Hah! Once I found out what's in the crate he always survived.

The same can happen to Beodul and Irrena if they die during the fight (Old Engrim and Chiputec aren't there so always survive).
Is Rekke supposed to be companion?
in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)

I really don't. Of the three
sidekicksfour she's the one that interests me the least.
