  1. I thought you were talking about the ability to change class/starting attributes. I've never encountered a loss of abilities while using respec feature. Though if you mean bonus stats or abilities from 3rd party sources such as trainers, well I would say that respecing would probably remove them as a respec is inherently a reset of abilities back to factory settings. That doesn't seem like a big either, simply a feature set some people would like. There is a difference between a feature not working as people would like or they think is missing and what a bug encompasses: bugs are explicitly unintended behavior as a result of coding errors.

When you respec you lose all your Watcher abilities and the only way to get them back is via the console. Are you going to claim that's intended behaviour?

  2. You're talking about abilities that are exceptionally broken, rather than representative of 'martial classes' as a whole.

The exact same is true of Meteor Shower and Wizards: it's exceptionally broken and not representative of the class as a whole. Only difference is it's a high level ability rather than one available before leaving Port Maje.

I stand by my comment, people whined that Wizards were going to be useless, and they are really rather good.

Again, no they weren't. People were well aware that Wizards were viable in the beta (when this "whining" was taking place), just that there was a big disparity in power between them and the martial classes. Based on the information available in the beta this was definitely true. Even post release I'd say it's true, although less so at high levels.

  3. This guy is saying he can one-shot entire encounters with one spell.

Doesn't sound underpowered to me at all.

It's not underpowered no, but they are underpowered compared to (some) martial classes. Meteor Shower is overpowered right now yes, but it's PL 9. Fighters get cleave stance at (iirc) PL 2 and that trivialises the game. Similarly with Monks and Swift Flurry. The whole balance is broken right now. The game's a cakewalk on PotD by the time you get PL 9 abilities (actually long before) regardless of class.

  4. Indeed. The concrete existence of a soul in Eora makes the question more complicated. I'd tend to take the view that all vessels we meet (apart from Devil) are dead, since they take the form of classical undead or mindless automata* but Devil is a more complicated case certainly.

*Actually I'm not sure whether the throne lady of Caed Nua and the chief animancer in Defiance bay are vessels or not?

  5. No no no, Devil of Caroc was not dead, she was a construct. She never died, her mind was transferred *while she was still alive*. Theoretically her body wouldn't even have died after her soul left it, until it was killed by some outside force--witness both the Hollowborn, whose bodies are alive, and Berath's statement that your body is breathing and your heart pumping in the material world while your talking to her in the In-Between.

I think this becomes a philosophical question about what being "dead" means in a world where your soul can, and often does, survive your body's destruction.

If we're going by what happened to her original physical body then I strongly suspect the villagers who wanted her executed didn't leave it intact after he soul was transferred, so she's almost certainly dead by those standards. If we're going by what happens to her soul after her physical body dies then a lot of people who are obviously dead in game aren't actually dead (Persok for example isn't dead, since his soul is fine and in another vessel).
