I use Omega 4.11 betas. Fresh windows and driver install. I don't really have any problems running newer games. I can play games like Pacific Assault, Doom 3, Half Life 2, far cry, etc on 1024 X 768 resolutions with settings ranging from medium to high. Most games average 45-55 frames per second. Farcry and PA I have to use shader 1.0 though or it starts to chug in heavy fighting. I don't mess with AA/AF to much. At most I'll put a game at 2x/4x if that. KOTOR 1 I could run with max AA/AF. The only game I can't get to run very well is Vampire MAsquerade Bloodlines. The game chugs at hubs and when it rains. =/ My system 3.2 P4 Prescot 1 gig ddr MR 9700 128 mb

Ok. I'm getting around 56 C on my MR9700 128mb. My cousin's MR9800 is hovering around 65. My best friend's MR9800 is hitting 80's in some portions of the game such as Dantooine.

Actually Dell offered upgradeable cards before Alienware did with their XPS and 9100 systems. They were also the first to offer the MR 9800 256mb. Also... People don't seem to realize, and this is not an insult, that you can't expect to play games on laptops. Half the posts here are from people who have laptops with "downgraded" vid cards (Mobile Radeons) and expect to play something as "complicated" -- graphic architecture wise -- As KOTOR on a laptop. My downgraded Mobile 9800 256mb can run Doom 3 and Half Life 2 on high/highest settings at 1024X768 + resolutions at a steady framerate. No not sub 40 frames either. I think Doom 3 I was averaging about 50-54 fps with fraps. That is pretty good for a system I purchased soley for autocad. I do admit I have to tone down AF/AA for certain games, but the games run great.

hey can you tell me what temps is your MR 9700 is getting? My game gets delivered today and my friends iMobile Radeon 9800 overheats like crazy.

I noticed a bunch of disturbing reports about this game. One report was on Gamefaqs forums. Someone mentioned that their card was overheating to the high 80's while playing this game.(800XT) Two more were from the 9100 boards over at notebook forums.(MR9800 256mb) They were both around 77 C. My best friend's 9800 Pro was reporting heat temps around 85 C. All of these reports state the same thing that basically this was their only game where temps go up that high. All say they have plenty of cooling solutions running. Vent/fans/etc What temperatures are you people getting on your ATI cards. List type of card and your temp.Is this a potential problem? I haven't managed to test it myself since I can't get past the character creation screen. haha.
