  1. Softnerd you are obviously 14 year old troll but I will clarify my post for you. I never said I could not play the game just fine. I am a programmer so I know computers well enough. I do not have any real problem except the "glow" effect. I notice a fps drop between different drivers and other small bugs like a line drawn in the middle of some NPCs heads etc. The bugs are there and they are NOT fixed by your general solution to use catalyst 4.11. Speaking of lies. You did not tell the whole truth and that is a lie no matter how sarcastic you are in your reply.
  2. How long have you been at this forum? I have only been here a week or so and I already know there is a lot of stuff cut from the ending and other places that for some reason were left on the game CDs. Sound files and scripts that give a lot more explanation about what really happens. The facts and proof is on your very own cd. Read this thread http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=31165 for instance.
  3. The 4.11 Catalyst version will NOT fix all the issues related to problems with ATI graphics cards. You should check your facts before posting lies. In my case I have tried version 4.2, 4.3, 4.11, 5.1, 5.2 with different bugs for each version. 4.2 and 4.3 has glow but crashes after a movie. The rest has no glow and other issues like worse fps in some cases. The list goes on and on and other people can not even run the game with any driver.
  4. As a programmer I can tell you that the slow performance is probably due to lack of optimization. They had very little time to do a lot of stuff. Optimization is among the last things you do so it always suffers. I have a computer that should play the game just fine, and it is fine with some exceptions. For instance the refugee area in Nar Shadaa I get around 9 FPS if I look in the wrong direction. Although there are plenty of NPCs walking around it is obviously not the AI causing the slowdown because when I look away from the people they still move and do AI calculations but does not cause a slowdown. I would guess they have no / or an ineffective algorithm for deciding which parts of the scene to draw. It should not be so slow. There is no excuse. Maybe they only use plain 3D clipping with a z-buffer? Comparing the game to Half-Life 2 is valid because HL2 has awesome graphics and sound plus realtime realistic physics. You dont think that requires a lot of calculations? Still most people will tell you it runs like a dream.
  5. It seems to me that some people play a different game than me. I know everything about the D20 system and I manipulated it quite a lot to my advantage in Kotor 2. I was in no danger of dying for most of the game. The huge exceptions started near the end of the game. Some of the bosses could kill me in 3 to 4 hits although I had AC 45+, Master Toughness, CON 22, Jedi Weapon Master, Immunity Belt, and so on. If that isnt difficult then what is? I have no clue how those bosses could do so much damage but they were hardly easy. Some non-bosses were also really difficult in the last map but supposedly not for some of you?
  6. I didn't read every post exactly but I didnt see anyone mention this weird bug. When creating and upgrading weapons that my NCPs use they sometimes get copied. Example: I upgrade a lightsaber or any weapon they wield. Then there is a copy of it in the inventory. This happens rarely and I dont know the cause. Even weirder is the fact that sometimes the copy disappears again or just the upgrades in the copy disappears. Strange but is doesnt harm me in any way. Summary: Sometimes I get an extra weapon with/without upgrades while upgrading.
  7. This topic is about the fact that when you are in a normal party with NPCs and choose one of them to access the Workbench they use the Exile's Repair skill instead of their own. I heard about this bug before I started playing but some people said they did not notice anything buggy and I checked with Medical Lab and that part of breaking things down worked ok. Now 9 hours in to the game I have noticed that the game always use my Repair skill which in fact sucks. This bug is crippling to the game because all bloody item drops in this game are random so you have to create stuff to be sure you get good equipment. What I want to know is if all of you have this bug or is it only a few people? Is it dependent on your NPCs or where the game is sold? Can it be fixed. I bought the game in Sweden and I experience almost no other bugs. No crashes or glitches. I receive slight slight slow-downs in big areas but that is all. I am talking about the PC version just to be clear. I am considering starting over with Repair skill maxed as a class skill because of this hidden bug that is not obvious until you receive NPCs and find a workbench. / Angry customer
