  1. Hmm well this isn't quite as surefire a fix as you guys seem to have found... though I am an ATi user. Having said that, it has helped performance a little. Main menu is still lagged, but I can now get 4x AA where before I could only get 2x (with 'DVBO=1'), though I'm not in a very demanding area. I say 'a little'... I should get 6x AA and soft shadows perfectly, like in kotor (not sure, but I would say this is less demanding so far). TBH I wasn't expecting to be able to max out specs like I could in kotor... but it looks like I should be able to. In any case, FPS still isn't anywhere near high enough. Shame, coz this sounded exactly that kinda crazy fix that would for no earthly reason fix everyone's problems. Jalo Jago out.
  2. How exactly are people checking these temperatures? I'm assuming you're all talking internal, here, coz even 60 C would be damn hot to the touch. On my wrist rest (notebook) I can feel it's getting warm, sure... but I've no idea how warm. And it's like that with everything else.. though maybe gets there a little quicker on kotor2. 128MB Radeon 9700 M
  3. My understanding of this is limited... but surely it is the natural reolution of your monitor that would affect the quality of a fixed-res FMV? If I had a 640x480 60Hz monitor (lol) it would be harder to see the flaws, no? After all, you don't get that level of blurring on a TV...

  5. Oh god that is poor... why haven't I picked up on this before??
  6. Second FMV in the game... whe one where you're spacewalking... and I notice the same thing again: the movie plays in horrible, awful, shockingly, shockingly bad res... why is this? It happened in kotor1 as well.. am I missing an option somewhere? It actually hurts my eyes! It made Darth Sion (leastways that's who I assume he is) look like something out of a cereal box. Anybody else experiencing this issue? Is it me missing something, or is it a bug? Is there a fix? Help! The lo-res will kill me! NOTE: Tried the 'DVBO=1' tag in the .ini, didn't help hugely but it fixed tecture loss in the mining tunnels on Peragus, and allows me 2x AA (for all the difference that makes, I should still get 6x...). Just had a hard reboot from equip screen. Still not happy... still want patch... grr...
  7. OH MY GOD just got to the hub area of the mining tunnels on Peragus (with the fuel containment)... How can they sleep at night knowing they released a product with that level of texture loss in it! Jesus felt like I was tripping through the Void!
  8. Bah, you get the drift...
  9. Obsidian Mods/Devs, In the face of the growing number and incidence of bugs reported in KotORII:Sith Lords, I believe I speak on behalf of many when I say that news of a patch would alleviate a lot of tension... Fellow unfortunate buyers! Be not disheartened! Let us rally under one Topic and post our desire for news of a patch! At least knowing if anything is happening, we might rest easy. And to thee, Obsidian: Speak! Or you shall find our lack of faith disturbing... Jalo Jago
  10. Well I'm no techie but is it possible for the actual card to overheat? Sure that's the hard disc/processor's job. Either way, mine's not too bad. Not damagingly hot anyway. Can we stay on topic please? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> MR 9700 is just to slow to maintain a decent fps with aa and af 16x with a res of 1280x1024 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Funny you should think so, it worked a charm in the original. No slowdown even in Kashyyyk Shadowlands.
  11. Fix texturing in Peragus Mining Station. At certain viewing angles, all is black. Not nice. Better performance/optimising... could run max AA on KotOR, but can't run AA at all on Sith Lords... should be no reason for this. Fix ALL loading issues/times. Not good. Anyone else feel this game is still firmly in beta? I'm just not gonna play it until a patch is released... it's not worth it.

  13. Was playin kotor in the run up to the release of Sith Lords, and was very pleased to find I could run it with all the specs whacked up to full, including full AA and 1280x res, making the game look very pretty indeed. Why then, can I not run any AA at all in Sith Lords? Is it a driver issue? Is it poor optimising by Obsidian? When I turn it on to 2x AA my FPS drop quite noticeably, and beyond that the game is unplayable. AF is on 16x. Running Radeon 9700 Mobility with latest Omega drivers (yep, fixed the BSOD for me... for all the good it did). I refuse to play anything less than 1280x res (which to be fair, just about runs), coz the game looks horrible otherwise. There better be one hell of a patch coming. BSOD, no AA, poor loading times, errors in loading, low FPS... I am NOT a happy customer. NB: Lag on the main menu screen at 1280x?!?!
