  1. HK-47's translation work on tattoine is pure class. Jolee and Bastila were my overall favorites. Carth and Juhani were good as well, but their issues eventually got irritating since they are so dramatic and tramatized. Maybe they were a little overly wounded, Juhani also seems like a bit to weak of a person to be a jedi since they supposed to represent some type of accended warriors in the SW universe, it seemed you could make her back down on anything she asserted and she didn't have much dialog that wasn't associated with her tortured past. She seemed like she was going to be great but didn't really get anywhere, at least HK is good for some laughs, Juhani just seemed like a permant downer and over dependent on the PC, no matter what you made the PC into.
  2. I wish an eventual Kotor2 would look more like the original trilogy, since Kotor had too much of the prequels' bland style. I wish the look would back away from the tall avatars and cinematics a bit too. I hope a lot of changes are made to the combat as well, with lightsabres landing multiple strikes to down an enemy or the PC seems hard to forgive. In sabre battles something like attack and defence ratings, stances and turn by turn tactical desicions should trump hit points on the outcome. Missle to melee balance deserves some attention and battle involvement was low... The story would be better off being totally independant of the first game in my opinion, either before or after a good century or two.
  3. I wouldn't really atribute all the success to lack of RPgs on Xbox or the infamiliarity with CRPGs, at least I wouldn't base an arguement that it was 'overrated' on those facts. I mean if it had no direct competition or no lesser know superior product then how exactly can someone overrate it? I suppose you could also say it 'oversold' due to those facts. Being a starwars game that didn't stink doesn't count for anything?; not that they all do or I could assert definitively this one didn't. What about the novelty of a game that lets you create your own jedi gives pretty decent options to let that particular jedi act in its own character. Calling it overrated is basicly implying everyone else is buying games for the wrong reasons and ruining the market for you, all of your dismissalls of why the game had to much success too easy are the types of selling points that I would guess get projects greenlighted.
  4. I'll take a stab at some contructive criticism. I thought KOTOR was pretty impressive though I set it down after one play. I agree with Shadowpaladin's observation, the major twist only has it's full impact for a certain percentage of players looking at it that way I guess you could question the desicion making during design, though I wouldn't say the plot was bad or poorly don't after that item. In terms of wishfull thinking I would have like more of a throw back art style, all the humans especially looked like the new star wars, clean, neat and bland. Grooming, costumes, and types of faces could have been better and more atmospheric, taking away lightsabres and familiar types of aliens this could have been any campy sci fi visually. Darth Malak and Bandon especially have very corny appearances with their chest and shoulder enhancing armor. Between their armors and corny toughguy lines, the only antagonists that successfully represented any sort of threat or sinisterness were the dueling leaders of the sith academy. Malak is a very poor villan, probably one of the worst on reflection. Other than those things I consider the game solid and enjoyable and look forward to what this team will do with the property, assuming the inuendo holds true.
  5. I don't think we need to consult the experts for this one.
  6. Good luck.
  7. When I weep for Jefferson(and I can grieve as long as I want ) I miss the potential of the rest system most as well as the CNPC influence system. I would like to see CNPC or Party NPCs able to develope relationships among themselves the nature of which may be influenced by the PC or events experienced individually or together. For instance does it make sense for Aerie and Korgan to bicker endlessly after being battle tested repeatedly and saving each others lives repeatedly? On the flip side the PC's handling of a key event could drive a wedge between them that becomes ireconsilable and their dislike would go from passive to active. NPCs could also develope romances or mentoring relationships and other things under the right set of circumstances. I would get quite a bit of amusement out of this feature as if each play was kind of a 'what if' episode in that games universe. Of course it seems like a lot of work already for questionable return...
  8. This seems like an amusing idea, I imagined it as Sim/school type thing with elements of the recent Romance of Three kingdoms games like turns and the students in place of generals, dictating role and abilities of a created student you could focus on generating a non discript pack or joining and influencing and eventually leading a large faction like nerds or jocks. Or simply develope personal influence and acolades or school acolades. Plug away on the school paper with a few peers or single handedly raise the schools standardized testing average like lisa simpson. I would imagine a humorous art style with over the top bossy competive kids the portraits would all be over the top and very iconic. In fact a competiveness score could be a double edge sword, a flat boost too all competive events based on spirit but prone to accepting all challenges even to detriment. EX; The Fiesty Nerds have just accepted the Jocks invite to a dodgeball game the week after you join. You then start planning to humiliate them back at the next school dance... Randomized humorous events could occur periodicly to jam up your plans or give you a few laughs and a handfull of annual events could feature an infamous competing school nearby...
