  1. A few things everyone should know about gamespot when reading any of their reviews... - They value innovation more then most sites do... and K2 is more of the same essentially... so consider it a good omen that they only took 6 tenths off... - They seem to weigh technical aspects more then other sites do... and the KOTOR engine isn't exactly a technical marval, nor was it a year ago... - They tend to rate RPGs lower anyway, unless it's Final Fantasy... The only things that really worry me is that they believe light saber forms have no practical effect, and that the workbench is pretty much useless... that remains to be seen but I seriously expected a 8.0-8.7 or so from GS so it's no suprise to me...
  2. Don't you all know that in most cases, games come out in stores the day after the posted release/ship date.... except big releases like GTA or Halo where the manager of the EB/Gamestop trucks copies in directly from the warehouse... I always knew I'd be getting the game on the 7th...
  3. I as well as everyone else should expect lower scores across the board for KOTOR 2 only because it's the same engine, same graphics, same combat, etc... just a different story with more feats and force powers... essentially more of a very good thing... Actually my 2 favorite things about KOTOR and what separated it from the pack was the dialogue scripting (which is even better here) and the great voice acting (which is the same here)... so for me this review was good.... 2 tenths of a point less really isn't much... Oh btw, for an above poster who incorrectly refered to the reviewer as a 'she', Hilary Goldsteen is a guy... who probably got killed in school for having a girl's name... :">
  4. What I'm saying is that in the first KOTOR the game wasn't really any harder if you chose light or dark.... Here though there seems to be more risk in choosing light.... I mean according to an IGN article you would get dark side points if you didn't essentially jump into the fire to save someone... meaning that if I chose not to save someone because I'm worried about my own character dying, I'd get darkside points.... It shouldn't be that much more difficult to earn LS points then DS points...
  5. I know it might sound stupid, but I find it hard to do evil things even in a game... when I tried to play the first KOTOR darkside, I just couldn't continue... I hear now that KOTOR 2 is going to be darker then the first, and it seems like going to the lightside will be much harder then going dark.... I understand that most people think the darkside is more fun, but I don't think it's fair for the game to push you down the dark path... I also hope that lightside elements and characters will be present in a measurable amount... I must be the only one that thinks is more rewarding then in star wars....
