  1. What bothered me the most was to loose control over my party members and my destination too many times, especially in the final sequence of events:

After meeting the Jedi Masters on Dantoine I was thrown in the Ebon Hawk right away and then without having any control on the events, I found myself in front of Atris. After Atris, I found myself on Citadel Station and then the Ravager and Malachor without being able to control anything. I understand the designers wanted the story to follow a certain sequence of events but I think that it diminished the role play elelment of the game. Why not let me have the control of the Ebon Hawk like in Kotor 1? Even between the Unkown world and the Star Forge I had some control. I like to be able to return to the Hawk when I'm ready, be able to at least talk to my npcs on board the Ebon Hawk and be able to use the workbench, unequip/equip my party members.

That being said, I still enjoyed the game a lot but if there is a Kotor 3, I wish they will let you have more control on this kind of elements.

  2. The sick man on Nar Shadaa always give you a crystal.

However, I wish the random loot was a bit less random...and that planets and races were taken more into account. I am still trying to figure out what does a Gun Turret can do with pocket money ;) oil bath perhaps?

Another time I got forced to play Peragus, Telos and Nar Shadaa in the miner uniform as I got no robes at all before reaching G0-T0's ship... I was playing as a consular which makes armors kind of pointless.

At least with the PC version we will be able to fix this easily with some mods and cheats.

  3. Bao Dur, HandMaiden, Atton, Visas, Diciple and Mira can become jedi. And you can convert all of them as both LS and DS it doesnt matter which enlignment you are. You just need some skills in playing the game :p

I disagree it seems to me it is impossible to get all of your companions to change if you are DS you at least cannot be a DS master to do it. It seems that the only person who you can reverse influence is Atton. Everyone else you need to make LS choices in order to get them to gain influence with you. Once you do that there are not enough oppurtunitty's in the game to get DS points to become a DS master and still have all of the companions be Jedi. I have tried it 3 time now and it seems impossible.

I always convert them all into Jedi and I normally play DS. You can also convert them into Jedi if loose a lot of influence on them. If I want to chose LS options, to gain influence on them, then I do Nar Shadda as my second planet: there are plenty of places to gain influence on LS party members there and it leaves you a lot of time to regain DS mastery later on.

  4. Uhhh... where do I get Thorium charges??? And, please, try not to include spoilers if you can help it. Someone posted a HUGE spoiler in one of my other posts, despite my explicit instructions NOT to (not to mention they don't belong in this forum catagory). I haven't completed the game yet, so give me a break! Hehe :p Thanks again in advance!

You can get thorium charges at two places: in the library on Korriban (but you'll need those on Korriban if you want to explore a certain area.)

You can also get them from the Sullustan merchant on Dantoine if you ask him to join the militia or if you kill him.

  5. Are you planning to mod a specific game?

In any event, if you have never modded before, I suggest you start small such as making new items, changing a few things here and there in order to familiarize yourself with the tools and the game instead of trying to make a huge mod that touches many areas of modding at a time.

  6. You only need to gain influence on Bao Dur about 5 times to make him a Jedi . You can also turn him into a Jedi if you loose a lot of influence on him. His alignment will just go to the opposite as yours but the same dialogue options will unlock. You don't need any prestige class to make him a Jedi. I normally make him a Jedi on ym second planet (Nar Shadaa), before even going to the refugee quarters. To gain influence, be nice with him and encourage him whenever possible or, to loose influence, chose the DS options such as unjustified murder when you can .

  7. You tell 'em T7!

-Shimaon (Who, ironically enough, is logging onto this forum for the first time in months.  I'll be over at Holowan to throw in my meager skills again when TSL comes out, heh.)

So is anyone going to try to actually mod the game at all, cuz i would really like to have a vader suit that would be the best

Yep, people will be modding it alright. There will be a few more possibilities just from the new game, such as robes, and the new models, but last I checked, we're nearing the possibility of full new armor models, so a Vader suit isn't very far off, and I think someone already made a helmet.

Shimaon? Good to know you are still around ;)

In fact modding TSL has already started (we have some xbox users at HL now).

Concerning the Vader suit, someone made one a few months ago. However it's not a new model, it's a reskin...but we already have stormtroopers ;)

  8. I enjoyed the game and had a lot of fun playing it and I will also buy the PC version. However, we cannot deny that there are some flaws. The xbox version gives me an impression that it has been rushed out for xmas. There are a lot of new goodies and animations that improve and add variety upon Kotor 1 but in my opinion these are secondary in a rpg.

I noticed more than a few glitches. I am not talking about the black screen problem which I never really experienced - seems more like a hardware issue but coding problems. The main things I noticed are global and local variables problems which may result in broken quests (including the main quest) if you happen to save your game at certain specific points in the game and reload. There are also some force powers that don't work. These issues are easily fixed and I am more than confident that they will be corrected when the PC version is released but I find this hardly excusable for the xbox version as those should have been easily discovered during QA testing.

The other thing that bugged me are numerous dialogues that are repeated ad perpetuam and/or that do not make sense once an event has occured. You kill a boss and npcs keep telling you that you are yet to meet the boss...Also, some quests have been removed but dialogue branches referring to these quests have been left in the game. It's not a big deal but it leaves a "strange" feeling...

However, overall, this game is still very good and well worth playing...more than once (it is certainly way better than most of the games that are released).
