Life at night on the internet. *shakes head*

Very nice. On that note, I think I'll take a nap on some of my native soil.
G'night all.

I hadn't seen his post when I wrote that comment. The double meaning of modding as world building and moderator work being completely unintentional, I swear
Gods and Moderators are so closely akin that I can see where the mistake might have been make ( pardon me while I go wash my mouth out now ).

Un-ignore tarna
Ther's something that doesn't happen often. :D
Back on topic dammit!! Where's my modstick?
What might be the ramifications of some drunken lab-rat with these possibilities?
More importantly, how would you make the universe if you got the chance to 'be God for a day'? ( Union rules, He's gotta get a day off once in a while )
-
Come on 'Babe' , at least give us a teaser...
i wonder if it's possible to have a moderator on ignore...
And lose the 'wisdom' of the moderator staff?!? ( God, that makes even me want to open a vein :D ).
Quiet Gorth, you're only encouraging me. I can get into enough trouble without your help.

If cloning human is playing God, then this idea must be being God.Be sure to hear the story. It takes about 9 minutes and it's pretty well made .

A little tacky don't you think guys?

The med wasn't that specific folks. What is does is remove the effect of adreneline upon the nerve endings that impacted the memory thereby reducing it's 'importance' to the individual. It doesn't actually 'remove' the memory, just reduce it's impact. It's not real specific as it sounds though.
BTW - it's already available to doctors as a heart med. I'll try to locate what is actually is and post it here.
Aram - this could wind up as something similar as dissassociative memory syndrome as far as the courts are concerned.

Be cool guys.
Why oh why...why don't you give us some specific examples of why you're unhappy with this game.

Hello all!
This is my first time on this site.
I would like to tell what I really like this project "Way Off-Topic".
I've been reading it for a while, and I have learned so much here.
So, I decided to try my luck asking a few questions...
How can you IM, PM or whatever you call it to certain members? .
I'd like to ask more questions about "Way Off-Topic".
By the way, nice domain name forums.obsidianent.com.

Was just watching 60 Minutes and they were talking about some drug that while not completely removing a recent traumatic memory, would take the traumatic edge off of it. Limited studies have shown it to take some of the 'panic' away from a woman's memory of a rape and could also possibly be used for soldiers in high violence warfare areas.
The question to you folks is 'would you take it?' and under what circumstances?
Me, I don't think so. A person's memories are what make them what they are. Hardships can strengthen us ( assuming of course that they don't destroy us ) and I'm not one for tinkering with that process.

I bet you guys don't remember me.
I just finished up NWN2.
Man, I've been out of the loop for way too long.
It's been a while. Good to see you and 'Imoen' around.

Odd, how after having once spent two years of your life completely wasting your time spamming some gaming forum, four years later this is the only thing google finds when you type in your name.
(In)Fame is a short-lived thing.
I'd be surprised if one of you even remembered me.Ahem...
Anyway, if someone does, how've you been?Same jerk as always.
As for me, after I got banned from the interplay forums for some reason I don't remember,...Getting into Black Isle's old board and editing some of your old posts to something questionable involving babies.
I could repost it here but that would get us both banned.
I actually got a life. Maybe it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Afterwards, I finished my bachelor wih credit, and now I'm doing my master in Bologna (italy), having loads of fun with other international students. That's just outstanding Caelis. Good on you. What's your degree in?

Get a lap dance for your birthday present?
No, because for the most part I think peelers are evil.
I always get a lapdance for my B-Day. Then again, it's not always with women...
With enough birthday sangria, it all becomes relative
No no no no no! Having only one knob, I definitely keep track of who's 'slobing' it. " Not enuf Sangria in the world to mistake the gender of your 'lap-mate'.
May the lice fall from your beard. They only just escaped from his crotch and you're wishing they return there? Didn't they dine poorly enuf when they were there before? "
Happy Birthday BTW

The point is that humiliating someone publically and forcing them to conform to petty standards is itself not "understanding" of others.
'Humiliating someone publically and forcing them' my dying ass. She knew the working conditions when she interviewed and chose to continue working there even though the school officials' requirements came into conflict with her religious views. That being the case, she chose to try to make the school conform to her standards. This doesn't sound a little stupid to you?
Also, with regard to the teacher's aid there was no condition of dress in the job - so far as I can tell. The claim about difficulty in hearing her speak seems bogus and likely manufactured to bring out the issue of her ethnicity, religion, and dress - considering the background of the school.Possibly so but she chose to make a public stand by seeking notoriety in this issue, possibly even hoping some simple smucks would cry that she was being a poor abused Muslim woman. Bulls**t!
This type of widespread public bullying of a powerless local minority is fundamentally wrong and often a forrunner to rationalizations of violence.Been out of the loop for a while? Does Paris ring a bell? London maybe?
It is ironic that many Muslims seem eager to rationalize the abuse of this woman - perhaps to save themselves from the hostility they might otherwise experience. This from a people who's fanatics 'circumsize' their women?
Not dissimilar to the behavior of certain Jews before the Holocost demonstrated that behavior was not the issue and conforming to behavioral standards was not going to be enough.Just wouldn't have been right if you couldn't bring the Nazis into this discussion somehow would it?

Play nice Moose. Just a touch lighter on the insults eh?

:D
Was snooping around the 'net and found this...
http://majorgeeks.com/Win3D_d229.html
...'this' being a desktop theme ( 2.3 Mb ) that fairly replicates what was known as 'Virtual Reality' games in the late 80's. To play, you stood on a platform with up to three other players and wore a 'gun', viewscreen helmet and a harness that tracked your movement. As you moved, raised your gun and fired, whatever...it appeared in your helmet's screen.
This desktop is fairly close to how VR worked. Thought I'd let you 'kids' take a stroll downwhat we 'oldsters' might call nostalgia lane . :D
It has some nice customizables such as 'Favorites' that don't show up elsewhere in other themes. Try it out, you'll see what I mean.

...the other is a very nice wireless LAN reciever for my Internet.
This can be changed to a USB style unit and it will free up your PCI slot.
-
My little $300 machine is now worth well over $1000 in parts and accessories.
:D Isn't that always the case when inproving an older system!?
I just wish I had just one more PCI slot. What are you looking to add and what is taking up your existing PCI slots? Maybe something can be moved or consolidated.

Aah, I think I understand what the "rated at" means. Before Intel's "Core" processors came out, the Pentiums and Celerons ran at far greater clock speeds than their AMD counterparts, although the effective performance was equivalent. Therefore, AMD processors are being "rated at" a higher speed than their native clock speed that is representative of its Intel counterpart. For example, the Sempron 3400 above runs at 2.0GHz, but is actually equivalent to an Intel 3.4GHz. However, the rating should NOT be applied to Pentium 4's, since they are already running at the higher clock speed. For some reason, the software incorrectly applied the multiplier to Volourn's P4 as well, giving it the insane 5.4 rating.
When I was buying my AMD processors I asked about this, apparently Intel, in order to give an apparent greater speed, rated their processors at the speed that they communicated data to their 'north' and 'south' bridges rather than what the processor actually supplied to the motherboard ( giving a higher frequency than was applicable ), artificially boosting their speed numbers. This was why I was happy to buy a meager 2.6 Gh 4800+ and an FX-60.
Now I'm looking forward to whoever developes a 4 core and motherboard that runs reliably with standard software ( or a dual socket motherboard that will accept 2 quad core chips ).
