  1. don't know much about the Ithorians other than that one mercenary in the Manaan cantina in KOTOR and he wore yellow armor.

no the Ithorians are the "hammerheads" the wierd aliens with the wierd voices ..

edit: I don't think they would want those guys you mentioned (I can't remember what they are called) monitering the planet! I mean they are bloodthirsty, crazy, psychopathic .. evil .. mother******* .. they're bad ok!

  2. that's why he's gone in TSL, hes still taking a dump!

but, about my idea, couldn't it be because they wanted to take Revan out through the Outer Rims, to "ignite" some of his lost memories, in an kinda controlable enviroment? so they had some kind of idea what Malak and him found and why they turned evil .. and possibly where!?

Like I said, I think that this was the will of the force, I'm sure the council meditated a great deal on what they should do and this was the force showed them

ok I thought you were just being a smartass stating the obvious! sorry  ..

  3. I don't know the SW universe good enough to say what their possible destination could be! But yes it seems strange to bring along Revan and Bastilla unless it was an attempt to have Revan reveal something while travelling the Outer Rims .. That way it would make more sense to travel in a single ship to avoid attention, and bring along a few Jedis if any trouble should arise! and perhaps the Counsel already knew of the bond Revan and Bastilla shared, which would allow Bastilla to tap into Revans unconcious mind! just a thought ..

  4. good reasons .. Especially the couch argument, you can really hurt your back doing an all-niter on the PC! :D

and to Silversun, I don't really think about grapics either, my favorite games are the Civilization series .. but I know some Xboxers who claim that they have better graphics so that was why I included it..

(ps how come you have "a flah of Silver and it's over" instead of a lvl number?)

okay well that gives me a little more insight into your strange world of couch sitting and console playing .. much appreciated!

  5. to all console owners:

I never understood why anyone wanted to play on consoles .. (not attempting to flame here don't worry) I'm just wondering .. Why do you think makes a XBox or PS2s etc better than PC's? imo you can do alot more with a PC, you can even get the controllers if thats what you want .. and it's not the graphics, because they are better on a PC, and you can plug your PC to the television if you want a 60 inches widescreen view .. So why?

edit: besides from getting games earlier! which is a good point I guess ..

  6. hey what happened to your "good point" remark?? ;)

but yes, that is an important part of SW to have ordinary people rise up .. But in the Exar story it wouldn't really fit in, which imo (and yours it seems) just shows he was too powerful for his own good (and because of bad writing)..

and having Exar killed/defeated/captured by a commoner would really seem a little too much like the writer would be trying to make a point of how normal people can defeat god-like beings as well! the wrote him too powerful to be defeated any other way than 20.000 jedis ..

    to the writer:

and that just shows that you should be a little careful and remember the word "moderation"! >_<

  7. Well any one under the right circumstances could've blown Exar out of the sky as well .. And that's a theme many of the classics play uopn as well! that's true .. The Iliad where Paris kills Achilles for example as well! and that's a good theme to play upon .. or even Ulic, even though he was no longer a threat or even much of a Jedi, being shot through the heart by Hoggon! But then again it would've been a little to close to the Ulic story if Exar was killed by a normal human (or alien) .. I just wished they would've let him go out with some glory in the final battle, but then again, the man was afraid to die, and that's what his story is very much about!

  8. I guess it's what you bring to the story that matters .. But I was also really disappointed about Exar's death, or lack off, and definitelty disappointed about the whole 4000 years later on Yavin thing .. Like Laozi, I felt that the fact that he could wield such force mastery was a kind of mockery to the universe, that the author felt he needed to resort to that instead of good storytelling was a sad thing indeed! and I know I said it quite a few times now, but I liked his fall for the opposite reason, that he didn't have much of a choice! or in the "Matrix Retrospect", he did but had already made it because of his fear of death! plus it seems that in SW there is a little thing called destiny, and the force, no matter who you are, will guide you towards it! but in the end the choice is yours, and I think he took the choice of the easy way..

But I don't know why you bring up the Han thing Laozi? most normal people wouldn't really stand much of a chance against any Jedi, only if luck, or The Force, is really on their side ..

  9. Agreed but today Lucas could show Yoda wiping out entire star system - he has technology! There aren't any limitations today, really. But on the other hand Lucas

promotes his vision of the late Jedi as the ones in which Force diminished.

I think that if GL ever would like to make movies set in Sith Wars era he would show us sith lords blowing stars and making powerful illusions. Ancient galaxy was very fantasy like with magic and other stuff

but then the movies are meant for everyone .. and although people like the notion of powerful figures, I don't think they really want too powerful figures! Vader was cool because he didn't need to show how powerful he was! you just knew it .. you could feel the power almost glowing out of him.. same thing goes with Yoda, but in a different kinda way ..

edit: and girls watch SW nowadays, and my impression is they don't really enjoy the extreme Sci-Fi fantasy!

but yes, if GL ever made a movie from the Old Republic era he would have to show how powerful the people from that time was .. I may not condone it, but they are established characters so I will live with it! :) (besides it would kinda rock to see Exar blow up a star on the big screen hehe)

  10. I agree with 213374U there .. It's a shame that they feel the need to make every new character that thet develop even more insane or even more powerful than the last .. It's a sad trend that they have borrowed from Hollywood! and thats why I'm against, although very much too late, the raised level cap for TSL ..

Those characters I like from EU aren't the biggest baddest etc etc .. Is those with the most background, and deepest stories!

and you have to remember that its always easier to make a literary character more powerful than one from a movie! the imagination can do alot more than visual effects, especially those from the 70'es!  :)

Took your time with that post, eh Rosb? I mean at 2 & a half hours that's got to be some kind of record.

watching something .. sorry won't happen again!
