  1. You know what would be the first thing I would do if I came to a massive trapped floor ready to shoot fireballs at me? Look for another way around. You should try the same.
  2. I'd buy that, except in the very next area, something Fork, I encountered a pack of 4 boars. They ripped down my tank in seconds then slaughtered the other 2. Almost every swing of theirs was a hit (a big hit) and most of mine were grazes. Finally managed to get through it by save-scumming and getting some lucky hits and debuffs landed. This **** is ridiculous. I don't feel like I'm playing heroes. I feel like I'm playing a group of plague victims.
  3. I'm in the temple with my PC (a rogue) and the 2 NPCs i've encountered so far, the wizard and the fighter. I'm alt-tabbed from a combat with 5 shadows on the 2nd level. I've got my fighter in a doorway and my 2 ranged (rogue has a warbow) users as far back as possible to keep the shadows from teleporting to them and slaughtering them within a few seconds. I've got all 3 party members focus firing on the shadow in the doorway. I'm clearly doing something wrong, because EVERY. SINGLE. SHOT. IS. SUCKING. Either a miss (50%) of the time, or a graze for 1 HP. This is my 12th or so reload. Every other time the shadows have teleported out to surround my fighter and slaughter him (yes, he's in defensive mode) within seconds, yet I can barely hurt these damn things. I have no idea what I am doing wrong with my characters. [EDIT] Two more reloads and I finally got it. Every shot from my rogue warbow was a solid hit, for 15 damage. I'll keep this thread up for recommendations. Otherwise I'm just going to assume this is one of those games where save-scumming is mandatory.
  4. I'd guess that at the least we'll be able to add and override portraits as in the IE games. What I'm asking for here is to be able to change portraits at will from the in-game interface. I would very much like this feature myself.
  5. It's been pointed out that it might not be. It's also been pointed out that quality developers have produced terrible maps in the past. For $140, some people might like a little more detail.
  6. Hahaha, do you realize how that sounds? Is there any other excuses you'd like to make for them? On the off chance that you're serious, can you imagine if every other RPG developer and fantasy author took that approach? Hyrule would be "The World", Middle Earth would be "The World", Brittania would be "The World". No thanks. I'd rather fantasy authors and RPG developers be creative. Calling an island "The Island" just doesn't have the same ring to it as "Recluce" or "Moonglow". [EDIT] Baldur's Gate could be renamed to "The City Gate", lololol.
  7. If that's not the final art - fantastic. But, as you said, there's been many bad maps put out over the years. I'm not going to drop an extra $120 for a cloth map when the initial design (above) is so lackluster.
  8. Let me show you two fantasy world maps. Which would you rather have? Personally I'm not too enamored with the one with massive borders and a generic "The World" on it. I mean, seriously, do they not even know what their world's name is? Can you imagine Hyrule being called "The World"? Brittania being called "The World"? If the map wasn't so terribad I'd be dropping the extra money on the physical collector's edition in a heart beat. My wife framed a number of my cloth maps a few years back and I'd love to add to my collection. The one being offered for this project would just look out of place among the old classics. Amatuerish look and... seriously... "The World"?
