That depend entirely on the story.

I hate romances in games. Its almost never done well. See: any Bioware game ever But I liked the romance(if you could call it that) in Planescape Torment (the Deionara story) or in KotOR 2.

New Vegas was fine regarding this. Make it like it is there. Problem solved.
