  1. From what we've been told magic will be tied to the strength of a person's soul. So I imagine there'll be some karma-like system in place. Personally, I'd like LOTR-style magic. Used only by a relative, powerful few and not what you typically find in RPGs (ie: No fireball spamming). Look at Gandalf, you didn't seem him mowing down rows of orcs with fireballs. His magical abilites were usually much more subtle, but still quite decisive. I don't think any character should be able to play with magic alone. No "mage" class. Magic is a tool like any other, and like any other tool there are things its suited for and things its not.
  2. I want romances that make sense and contribute to the plot. I don't care if there's sex or not, I don't care if any romance at all or not. But it should make sense and if it is included it shouldn't be artificially limited. Example: The romance between Aragorn and Arwen. It's there, you know about it, but it doesn't really show up for most of LOTR. Why not? Because Aragorn's off saving the world and elven booty can wait. Alternate Example: The Witcher 2, where Triss and Geralt's relationship and corresponding sexuality is established and very much part of their characters. It contributes to them, and it makes sense. The tall, brawny, heroic guys and strong, adventurous women usually have high levels of testosterone. How many chaste atheletes do you know? How many chaste soldiers? A note about sex: If it makes sense for the romantic partners to have sex (ex: a developed attachment to a member of your party who's save your life and so forth), then they should have sex. Visibly. I know it's isometric but you can do something decent. Fade-to-black was old in the 70s, and just reeks of condescension (oh, this isn't fit for your eyes) and/or laziness. We've been told this is going to be an M rated game. I'm not asking for The Witcher 2 levels (unless they make sense) but for the love of God if you're going to put sex in it don't hold back, unless you intend this game for teenagers. Bottom line, **** should make sense. I don't care if there's any romance at all, but its inclusion or absence should make sense.
  3. In complete agreement, and it would be nice to have something other than the typical medieval-europe-style arsenal. Even a slight change, like back to the Roman Era, would be nice. And by that I don't mean shiny, glittering centurion armor. You can keep it somewhat grungy/realistic by just adding a little weathering. See this clip from The Eagle: Granted we have 4 different races now, so there's room for variety. I'm just kinda sick of seeing a bunch of long swords and kite shields running around. Seems like every fantasy RPG has this compulsive need to take place in the exact same region of medieval Europe, just move the landforms around a bit.
