I want romances that make sense and contribute to the plot. I don't care if there's sex or not, I don't care if any romance at all or not. But it should make sense and if it is included it shouldn't be artificially limited.
Example: The romance between Aragorn and Arwen. It's there, you know about it, but it doesn't really show up for most of LOTR. Why not? Because Aragorn's off saving the world and elven booty can wait.
Alternate Example: The Witcher 2, where Triss and Geralt's relationship and corresponding sexuality is established and very much part of their characters. It contributes to them, and it makes sense. The tall, brawny, heroic guys and strong, adventurous women usually have high levels of testosterone. How many chaste atheletes do you know? How many chaste soldiers?
A note about sex:
If it makes sense for the romantic partners to have sex (ex: a developed attachment to a member of your party who's save your life and so forth), then they should have sex. Visibly. I know it's isometric but you can do something decent. Fade-to-black was old in the 70s, and just reeks of condescension (oh, this isn't fit for your eyes) and/or laziness. We've been told this is going to be an M rated game. I'm not asking for The Witcher 2 levels (unless they make sense) but for the love of God if you're going to put sex in it don't hold back, unless you intend this game for teenagers.
Bottom line, **** should make sense. I don't care if there's any romance at all, but its inclusion or absence should make sense.
