Agreed. I used to be an I.T. project manager, and it's frightening how quickly even a fairly trivial project will clock up to $1M. I can't imagine how this could be the entire budget - surely there is a larger funding strategy.

Totally agree with the OP. I sincerely hope that the devs take this tremendous financial support as a vote of confidence in THEIR artistic vision, and not as some sort of unholy contract with the shrieking spirits of the forum, in which all manner of incongruous and hideous nonsense is inserted. Design by committee? God, I hope not...

Wow. This is extraordinary. Congratulations to the team! This now looks like a rather historic project in the development of the industry. It's wonderful to see such a great idea come to life, based on a civilised relationship between the artists and audience, free from the dead hand of the marketing drones. Let's hope the funding keeps coming, as I'd love to see the game world even larger than the BG series. Gentlemen, a toast: TO EVIL! ...no, wrong meeting. I meant: TO THE FUTURE!
