I do agree with the question Purk asks though: Outside of forums like this how many people really care? I do think people would care more if they knew, but how many people even know what DRM is?
-
Yeah, the name makes me think of BMX biking in the wasteland.
-
It's funny. I'm pretty tolerant of DRM as a rule. What bugs me about this is the "save remotely" part. That irritates me for some reason.
-
I sinply won't play or buy any game that uses this sort of DRM. Its gone beyond the limit of what I find acceptable.
-
I just want to clarify that I meant no disrepect to Sargoth in any way. I was genuinely curious on getting his/her take on the game and their obvious enjoyment of it. Sorry, if it came off like I was being insulting or anything.

It's true. He used to keep me in a well and only feed me once a day.

Wait, what? I asked for more info about the game mentioned in the OP by the OP. What's wrong with that? if I start a thread on Jagged Alliance 2 and its awesomness and someone says, "Hey, what's JAgged Alliance 2?" I would enjoy discussing it with them since I probably wouldn't have made a thread if I wasn't interested in discussing the game. Again, this isn't a chat room. If you want more info, go check the wikipedia link instead of spamming the forum. As for the game, never heard of it. I can't tell if you're being serious.

Who failed where? I'm totally confused at this point.

No. Awesome. I love charades. Is it bigger than a breadbox?
-
I could, yes, but I was more interested in engaging in dialogue with the OP or anyone else who wanted to answer the question and talk about the game. generally, I prefer that interaction to going off and clicking a youtube or wikipedia link.

Looking at the links provided might be helpful... *shrugs* Wasn't that interested in clicking a link and reading. More just making conversation.
-
I might be thinking of some different game though.

Going to go with Crysis next? Or has this bit of action-gaming sated your action lust?
-
Never played it. I think I vaguely remember when it came out a long time ago. What is it? An FPS?

FO:NV: The Return of Gameplay Mechanics Discussion
Slowtrain replied to Pidesco's topic in Computer and Console
My hope tends to agree with you completely. However, my hope also believed the that the alien crpg would not be cancelled. My hope lets me down a lot. -
eh, no, it goes beyond that. It didn't even live up to what we were told it would be. I actually finished it twice, so I can't say its a horrible game, but pretty stunningly underwhelming given its legacy. That's basically what I was trying to say. Taken as an independent game, it is a solid effort. But I get what you mean, it was marketed as one thing and arrived as another. And it also wasn't just like they ran out of time or failed to execute, they seemed to make purposeful choices that turned it away from the original. Yes, I think we are both saying roughly the same thing. once I got over my initial extreme disappointment, there was a reasonable game to be found there.

It depends. To me, that is worst case scenario. It is possible. Fallout NV may be nothing more than FO3 set in the Vegas wasteland instead of the DC wasteland with all gameplay elements and approaches being exactly the same. My hope however is that the game will be more story/quest focused, less combat intensive, with skills changed, removed, redone, new gameplay elements added, others removed, VATS overhauled or deleted (not likely!). It could be, crossing fingers, a very different game, Its why I am so curious to hear more info on the game. ATM, we know pretty much nothing. -

MOTS of Fallout 3 gameplay does not rock. We still have no indication of how much freedom Obsidian has in this project to go the way they want to go. -

I've got nothing personal aginst either one; I just don't want to hear either one of them talk about a game that they're not making, and hopefuly aren't even involved with. If they want to talk about the Fallout IP on a general level or Fallout 4, hey fine no problem. But let's have the people and company that are making the game actually be the ones to talk about the game. -

Its up to Sega. The Obsidian developers are making the game. Sega is publishing it. Sega calls the shots. -

That would be better. Again, hopefully, once the initial PR surge is underway, most of the interviews and stuff will be with Obsidian developers not Bethie's pr staff. -

The hype train is pulling into the station. It's a bit annoying that Pete Hines is doing the interview, and not Rorie or Sawyer. the further removed the Betehsda machine is from NV, the better I''ll feel. Hopefully, Hines will step out of the way after the initial PR wave lets loose. Your kidding aren't you? If Beth does one thing right, it's promote their AAA games. Yes they overhype, but that's what they're meant to do. Sure, I don't mind seeing Bethie's publishing weight behind an Obsidian project. That's a win win for everyone. I would just prefer to see the Obsidian developers be the ones to talk about their game, not Pete Hines. Rorie is a PR guy among other things. Yes, yes, I recognize its Bethie's IP, but it's Obsidian's game. Or so I hope.
