  1. However, SP, it's worth pointing out that both Bloodlines and Arcanum turned out, post patch, to be 2 of the better crpgs ever made. Let's be honest, its now sop to release buggy games. To hang Troika up by their balls for that seems a tad unfair. I was as sad to see Troika drop as I was to see Origin and Microprose go under. The best developers never last.
  2. Not a bad thing though! Still, FEAR is not nearly anywhere close to SS2. Its a straightforward FPS that's a bit better developed than most. If you compare it to SS2, you will be severely disappointed.
  3. Because of the rather combat-intensive nature of the game, especially the last half, the game does favor the better combat clans in general. Brujah are effective because you can just build unarmed and persuasion and toss the rest of your points into your disciplines, celerity first followed by potence and presence. Then you can put leftover points into melee or ranged or stealth or whatever you want. The other clans require a bit more hand-holding to develop. On a general note: persuasion is way unbalanced through the first half of the game. Unless you're really into RPing your Vamp you would never not develop persuasion. However, not developing persuasion, such as I'm doing with my Brujah, makes your charcter feel much more unique.
  4. Yrkoon here? lolololol! Never expect the unexpected!
  5. yes! its pretty decent. I usually get bored of FPS games fast fast fast, but FEAR has me going right until the end. I'd still rather play System Shock2, but I digress... ANyways I am breaking from Bloodlines to play Wizardry 8 again using Flamestrykes awesome awesome mod.
  6. I don't randomly kill civilians either, but there was the one time when one was standing at the entrance to Confession and wouldn't move no matter how long I waited. Since I needed to get in there, I took the pragmatic route. ANyway, I like to stay in character with my Vampires. My Brujah does most of his thinking with his fists, so that's how he resolves things. Really, he's not too bright, but he's a sweetie.
  7. If you don't have a high persuasion or access to Dominate or Dementation you will tend to lose a lot of humanity points resolving situations. For example when Samantha was going to call her friends in Hollywood my Brujah Logan had no choice but to kill her. So he got a Masquerade Redemption but lost humanity in the process. edit: spelling
  8. I'm playing a Toreador right now as well. He's a bit too much the metrosexual for me to really find him a thrill, but still at least he's not a total dork like "Ken" Male Avatar of the Ventrue clan.
  9. Fancy-dress clans, wimpy? LOL <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Only in a fashion sense! I mean come on, tripping through the sewers in high heels or a suit? Pweeze!
  10. How are you enjoying the Tremere? I played one about halfway through downtown then dropped it. I found Thaumaturgy, which I maxed out, not nearly as powerful as a lot of people say it is. Blood Boil was cool the first time I used it in Grouts Mansion, but its blood cost is huge. I never got a chance to try it on a boss. Maybe if I had developed other skills rather than just going straight for level 5 thaumaturgy, I would have enjoyed it more.
  11. Funny isn't really a requirement, even though 'witty' may sound like it...and if someone knows of a game reminiscent of Arcanum that isn't filtered out or part of my backcatalogue, please tell...I may be limited, but I'm also desperate. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Did you try Divine Divinity? I never played it but a lot pf people really liked it.
  12. Obfuscate doesn't work on a lot of bosses. They see you anyway when you get close. A big weakness that makes obfuscate useless in boss-type combats. Its ok when fighting groups of humans or some lesser supernaturals though.
  13. I like Malks, too. They are really fun and obfuscate is a cool discipline. But they are not so good in single combat against bosses, like the plaguebearers for example . They tend to have to rely on bloodbuff, which is pretty draining. A ranged Malk would probably be better than a melee Malk.
  14. Gothic. I suppose its not really funny though. Funny seems an odd requirement for a crpg, but whatever.
  15. k. Gangrel are cool, too. But Brujah are a tad more flexible, which I like.
  16. Brujah is best! My male Brujah is in Hollywood, and his humanity is down to 4 and dropping. He's awesome. Those fancy-dress clans are just too wimpy for me.
  17. FEAR. Bloodlines. Morrowind with lots of mods. I tried playing NOLF2 again recently but that first mission is too boring.
  18. hi, I don't know where some of you are getting info about the lair. but ok. 1) I don't know what a chick community is, but 95% of the people who post at the lair are male. 2) There's not much blandness at the lair. Tons of thoughts and opinions, SOme of the forums are quite brutal in that regard. But there's a lot of casual spam posting as well which breaks up the hardcore debates. 3) Its obvious some of you don't know MIssy very well. When that happens I think people should be careful what they say. But that's just me. 4) True, its not a game-centric forum, but that's really the only difference. Anyway, you are all welcome to come by. I'm sure its not everyone's cup of tea, but stop by and take a sip. Maybe you will like it. kbai
  19. never too late, balth. never. I will bring the savage Jackalmonkey back from the abyss even if its means I carry him on my shoulders up all the ramps of hell. B)
  20. No need to be frightened, boys. I am merely pining for a pair of lost loves, one of whom was the originator of this insipid thread. And though I sense a certain sly subtlety at work, it is far more fun to take it at face value.
  21. What is there to keep us here? omg this place is teh k00l, tessie! don't you know? Or maybe I'm just missing something. like my brain.
  22. What?! What is *this* drivel? Surely this toothless, petting-zoo mockery cannot be the same Jackalmonkey whose savage, frenzied tongue once made my heart hot and my skin shine? Alas for Missy's. I am bereft of much that I love. :/ And alas for the corporate banality that breaks even the mightiest on its bloodied wheel! Truely we have all lost. *snogs the Great Spirit once Jackalmonkey, then goes out for tea and therapy*
  23. OK, taks, I'm sorry again. I'm just a little touchy about some things. I apologize for reading more into your post than you may have meant.
  24. So, you mean my virtual snog would be OK if I am female in rl but not OK if I am male in rl? Well, since it was unsolicited I will grant you fair enough either way, and apologize for my forwardness. But I assure you that whether I am female or male in rl, my virtual snogging means the same thing as far as I am concerned: nothing. Again, my apologies. I assure you it will not happen again. :|
  25. well, I don't know if there is such a thing a *A* snog, but *TO* snog, means to kiss, usually in a smoochy kind of way. however, in this case all snogging here is purely platonic and celebratory due to the imminent return of missy's to which I will lovingly return. B) missy's is wonderful.
