What kind of name is "project X"?

They name them after monkey movies. First Project X, then King Kong, then Mighty Joe Young, then Eddie, then MVP (most valuable primate)...hopefully for a Dark Alliance version of Star Wars (so when it bombs they can say, "We saw that coming!").
