...Non-existant?
-
You wouldn't use the population of users who played the game; of course. The hardest thing would be removing bias from the sample size... And also defining bias to begin with.

cpu was over heating, was hitting 94 degrees. have a amd 64 athlon duel core 4800+
Only Dungeon Siege? It could still be a software fault. Turn on Vertical Sync to limit your framerate (Edit: Funny story, in that Star Trek MMO people have burned out their graphics cards at the intro scene because it was running at 200+ FPS)
Or double check your connections to the new hardware; something might be off with the fans.
-
I fail to see how you can even come close to proving that. Forums are not a good place to judge by, since the large majority of ppl who post are (usually) not the ones who are pleased with the game. Sadly.
That's more or less half true. People who enjoyed the game might be in larger numbers but people who disliked the games on these forums are the loudest; it's human nature to complain and find faults in something and not find something to complement it with. If you look at the user-reviews for metacritic the game has been shot down rather hard
-
I'm not sure you use a trainer for that though...
-
I'm new to Dungeon Siege but I understood everything in the game, it explains it all quite well. Except I still don't know what any of the stats do besides attack and armor. No idea what doom, will, agility or basically any other stat does.
A common issue; there is a rather in-depth explanation of possible item stats in the help menu (Found by pressing escape) although someone made a topic for this as well;
-
Uh... Equip your abilities? What exactly do you mean by that; getting new abilities (Which you get via leveling up)?
-
I take it you have tried headphones and managed to get the same effect well uh...
Have you tried turning down the volume of the effects in the volume tab? It isn't the best fix but if that is causing the problems.
Edit: Might sound like a strange addition but Mass Effect 1 had a similar issue (A little more wide-spread... And it sounded like a Vacuum Cleaner while using the land rover) and to fix it you had to reduce the amount of available audio channels the game can use (I'll be damned if I knew how to do that, however)

I just look at that image and wonder; what makes Legion magic so different from other sources of magic? You could assume that each type of magic would channel a different sort of energy but then you throw legion magic into the mix and it just makes things confusing. It's a magic uniquely described for a kingdoms army. You could assign some basic values "pulls" (Like the First People could have a more druidic magical source while Lezkanzi would be more based upon curses and rituals) but Legion magic, as I said before, goes screws that idea up.
So uh... Yeah, what is your take on Dungeon Siege world's magical sources.

...Taking it out?
Edit: Disabling the option on Steam should do it as well. I believe Dungeon Siege 3 uses whatever Steam has for VoIP

On a slightly related topic I enjoy seeing some bodies fly. For example, this one time I knocked some Lazkanzi mercs down a hole near a waterfall (Near the intro area)
A few moments later they were flying UP the waterfall.
-
It only increases your contribution from Will towards damage dealt; not all of your damage (Attack+Will); which would end up instead of 100% increase it would be around a 50% increase (Assuming Will is near or at the same level as attack).
-
Armor and items are not game mechanics, A game mechanic would be casting spells, choosing dialog, the fighting moves and things like that.
How the armor and items interact with the world, however, is a game mechanic.
Edit: As for the personal attacks, yeah, sure if you say so.
-
Presumption, no matter how often you say otherwise it's a presumption until it's been proven. All those sources you gave me does not state he is a warrior; merely trained in the arts of combat/the skills of the legion.
Plus; it's a game mechanic. Why does it need an explaination? Thinking about it; it's more than just a "game mechanic"; Lucas refuses to wear armor designed for a female. The "breastplate" armor is for the Fire Bug (Who is a woman); I doubt the armor has that "fits all genders/gets skimpier on woman" game mechanic magic on it.
-
Yep, despite all that it's still an assumption that Lucas is defined as a warrior. Until the game or some other source actually says "Class: Warrior" or "Class: Legionnaire that isn't prone to cross-dressing" it will stay an assumption.
Edit: Sorry, presumption. That, however, does not mean it's true... And the whole cross-dressing thing.
-
Doesn't change the fact that your assuming Lucas is a "warrior" class (When the game itself does not say it) and your assuming that warriors can wear any type of armor.
-
Those videos do not state him as a "Warrior" or anything that could be called a "class" whatsoever so that's still an assumption and "A warrior class in any game ... can always wear any armor type..."; that also just sounds like an assumption to me.
-
On the PC version of the game I've started a new game with Lucas on hardcore difficulty. Every time I've leveled up I have put points into Graceful Repose/Live by the Sword and Force of Will.
I am now currently on my 4th level and yet I've been getting free talent points in Devastating Critical every time I level up.
I would link you the savefile but I have no idea where it is so uh... Have a screen shot of my character
-
It's not a game mechanic when it totally goes against what a character class is supposed to be able to do never mind without an explanation as to why.
What exactly is Lucas' character class? It isn't exactly stated in the game apart from his name; are you just giving him the "class" of warrior as an assumption? I can't find any reference of the game calling him a specific class so are you getting this from somewhere else?
Also, where does this game say "The Lucas class can wear any type of armor he wishes"?
-
Might be my playstyle but I don't worry about much while playing it but if you wanted an explanation it would only go down as "Game Mechanics, that's why."
If you don't bother with things like that then you come accross as a terrible gamer. If something is in a game it's there for a reason, and any player that doesn't question things that don't have explanation should maybe take a look at how they play games and realize they are actually missing the full gaming interaction.
Or that Breastplate was literally Breastplate; a piece of plat armor with a lot of room for boobies.Maybe it's just me but a piece of breastplate armor is simply to protect ones torso, and it's usually made up of light to medium armor. A fighter can wear light, medium and heavy armor. So the fact that I was not able to equip a piece of armor my character is supposed to be able to use without any form of explanation why, should be questioned and don't bother trying to say that is not a legitimate issue or that it was explained.
I mean seriously, any player that plays a warrior/fighter in a game that doesn't question why a warrior/fighter cannot wear a piece of armor they are supposed to be able to wear, is clearly not playing the game correctly.
Maybe to you. To me, the people who ask why their warrior/fighter can't wear/equip all items and refuse the reason "Game mechanics, that's why" come down as pedantic and are actively finding reasons why to make fun of the game. There are some things that should be explained, as you pointed out earlier a better explanation of the mastery bar but there are others like wearing armor that just comes down as "Why is this pencil not in a straight line like the others?"

Uh... Vera being the first major boss involving saving Bob? It involves a lot of rolling and avoiding her attacks.
Take out her minions first (Pick them off) and avoid ANYTHING that is purple and on the ground. Vera has an ability that deals an incredible amount of damage to melee characters.

I am serious: Obsidian, you MUST fix this. The Dungeon Seige brand has a customer base of PC gamers, not console gamers. To sell us out in order to put your product on other platforms may well destroy your reputation. Please fix this, and learn your customer before making a move like this. To most of us PC gamers, $50 is not the kind of money we gamble with: we spend it with the expectation of a good product. Can you imagine what would happen if Diablo 3 was virtually unplayable on a PC because they wanted to branch out to X-BOX? If I knew of a way to ge a refund through Steam, I'd do it. I am just holding out hope that you all are serious about fixing this and making the people who make your paycheck possible happy again. See Dungeon Siege and Dungeon Siege II for what we want. In the meantime, I am happier playing solitaire.
But isn't that why developers release demos and why reviewers review?
...Or pirates pirate.

That lack of "specific content that would make persistent play valuable" is also a big problem. Some may not see it as such but for some that lack of content and lack of gameplay options is a massive negative.
Yeah, pretty much.
Agreed.
I do not refute any of these points; mostly because I wanted to put another quote box around a quote box which contains a quote box.
But how many quote boxes are enough?
We have to go deeper

tx3000, that's mostly because I can't be bothered to talk to anyone in voice chat; typically it takes me a ballistic missile up the *self censor* to be bothered.
If asking yourself "Why can't I use this thing?" Does indeed break the game and ruin your fun all the more power to you (Or less power... I dunno). Might be my playstyle but I don't worry about much while playing it but if you wanted an explanation it would only go down as "Game Mechanics, that's why."
Or that Breastplate was literally Breastplate; a piece of plat armor with a lot of room for boobies.
Seriously?!All he did was make me gloss over his little pictures of a game which I already HAVE.
And here I was going to say; "That wasn't my intention but cool" but I had to go to work. Although if that's the point he was trying to make; it was done a lot more effectively than what you were trying to do using by using examples only (Edit: And acting as a possible frustrated... Uh, individual)
Just what is Legion magic?

Ah, so it's more like a combination of every element while others more or less only concentrate on one part. Cool; also answers why wonder it looks different visually as well.
