  1. I’m playing on medium difficulty. I have three pieces of mixed tier 3 armor upgraded to level 6 on my character. Two pieces are light armor and one is medium armor. Most tier 3 insects except for the Black Widow are barely doing any damage to me. They are basically tickling me. They have no chance of killing me whatsoever. I just don’t understand why armor is so effective at reducing damage. It’s eliminating almost all of the challenge of the game. This wasn’t just an issue with tier 3 armor either. I noticed armor all throughout my play through making the damage I take from the bugs basically unable to kill me. Armor subtracts a static amount of damage (defense) and then a percentage of the remainder (resistance). It’s just too much damage reduction. You’re reducing the insects to not much of a threat at all. Do I have to play on whoa mode where I’ll never be able to kill a black widow, wasp queen or infected broodmother so the other bugs in the backyard feel like a challenge? Or is upgraded armor so good even on whoa mode most bugs have no chance of killing you? Personally I think all armor needs to be halved or more in terms of its ability to reduce incoming damage. I want to feel like all the bugs especially all of the tier 3 bugs can kill me if I mess up and miss several blocks.
  2. Where do I start? What is wrong with Obsidian? Wolf Spiders become so easy you can take them down half asleep with no need for mithridatism ever since they made poison and venom tick so slow a pot of water boils faster. The next evolution of spiders the Black Widows are a massive spike in difficulty. The genius devs that are Obsidian think the spider that already attacks faster than all other spiders in the game should get a berserk mode that makes it attack even faster. The result is the spider is so difficult they have to reduce the quantity of Black Widows to just a few and isolate them in a few dark caves that are essentially completely optional encounters when they should be essentially an upper yard Wolf Spider replacement; stalking the upper yard at night and terrorizing the kids. What is the thinking here? Black Widows don’t need to attack faster than their already fast base attack speed. Get rid of the berserk mode and they will still be challenging but also much more enjoyable to fight. Sure if you have a stack of muscle sprout smoothies, a sour weapon and armor max upgraded you can shorten the fight so much that fighting them is tolerable. I still think the berserk mode is overkill and completely unnecessary. It would be nice to see more black widows if they weren’t stupid overpowered like they are short of having the absolute best gear to fight them.
  3. Why is it when you chop pupa hide it breaks into like 7 or 8 decently sized pieces and then 6 or 7 of those dissolve away and you’re left with 1 or 2 very small, slim and hard to see pieces for you to collect? Does anyone else find the chopping into pieces animation and piece size of this resource particularly annoying? At least the tiny gum nuggets are pink which helps make them easy to spot. Pupa hide is brown like the ground and it’s very thin and small. How about reducing the number of pieces that are just for show and dissolve away and increasing the size of the actual pieces you can collect? I would love that.
  4. Dandelion tufts do not have durability anymore so why was the Gnat Friend side effect never changed after the dandelion change was made? Some ideas for the new gnat pet side effect could: (1) You can glide over greater distances. Decreases how fast you fall when gliding allowing you to travel further horizontally. (2) The stink of rotten meat helps to keep you safe. Decreases the aggro range of angry insects. (3) Your fists are more lethal. Increases the damage of unarmed attacks. I hope just because this game is “finished” doesn’t mean it can’t still get minor tweaks to it. I love Grounded a lot and I will always want it to be the best it can be.
