  1. um mods? The one above me is making his best effort to come up with gender jokes in my dms. Seems to be another second gen though, cause they're not very coherent. Do we really need this?
  2. who let the super mutants in?
  3. Honestly, Obsidian did this with New Vegas and classic fallout and even if it's a little on the nose, i love it. It acknowledges old fans, it makes the world feel consistent and it goes a long way to introduce new fans to older titles, because they can smell when there's lore. How many people went from New Vegas to Fallout 1 and 2? I'm hoping a similar things is about to happen with avowed and pillars and i'm so here for it. Overall i don't think it's really that different an audience as people make it seem between mainstream and non mainsteam cRPGs. I think that if you aren't old, "modern" rpgs can be a gateway to classic cRPGs, at least that was my own story back when i was younger and played new vegas.
  4. I wish i could play Avowed, because i don't have an xbox or a gaming pc, but i am playing grounded for the first time. It's so good! I got it on switch, and it's like 500p or something but it looks surprisingly alright and plays at like 30 fps so it's not a bad experience. It's the perfect portable game. I don't know what i was expecting and why it took me so long to play, but it feels like good obsidian and has the potential to be my favourite survival game ever. I hope microsoft continues their marriage with nintendo on the switch 2, because if it's on the level ps4 pro or something it will be able to handle most obsidian games semi decently.
  5. if they don't eat you don't get your favourite toys
  6. i don't like the "we deserve it" idea honestly, but i also want it. I am interested in financial questions to the extent that i recognize that we live under capitalism and for things to get made certain conditions have to be met. Well this year we're getting two obsidian titles that have chances of becoming big sellers with mainstream audiences (all while maintaining what makes obsidian titles so loved in the first place) so i think the future is looking bright for less mainstream titles as well! We've had pentiment, we could get pillars, new things, maybe even fallout is not out of the question! My only worry is Microsoft not letting more niche projects be made, but so far it's been looking good.
  7. Hey all! Just joined here and i wanted to take a moment to appreciate how hyped i am that we're getting two big budget releases this year, both of which continue two of Obsidian's original IPs with a good chance of pushing them to larger audiences than ever before. Avowed is already looking fantastic and as a fan of the Outer Worlds i have nothing but confidence in the sequel, but i am perhaps even more hyped for what this might mean for Obsidian's future. There was a lot of negativity about Avowed pre release (for the most bs reasons that i won't even get into) and the internet seems to have turned on the Outer Worlds as well lately, which had me a little worried, but with the release of Avowed and mainstream perception of it changing and becoming increasingly positive, i'm cautiously optimistic that there's basically no way for these games not to succeed. Quality titles like this don't reach the mainstream that often anymore and all it takes is more people playing them for them to become fans, and i think that's exactly what's going to happen. Already we are seeing more and more people going back to pillars and going back to outer worlds, i myself finally started Grounded for the first time (and it's fantastic!) and i realize now that this is only going to escalate, which can only mean good things for the future. It's a good time to be a fan is all.

  8. I was wondering about that haha. This is my 5th comment i think, time for customization.
  9. Tim Cain's channel is so wholesome and interesting! I'm not a gamedev but the way i hear him talk about it makes me regret my lifechoices. And what an amazing run the guy has had. Some of my favourite games of all time. I undestand that he's semi retired but i'm hoping to see more of his work sometime. And if not, i'm glad we have the channel.
  10. sorry for the incoherent messages above, i don't think i can edit the typos. I wanted to clarify in case someone with the same problem googles this that one of the save files in this process got corrupted seemingly: loading it drops me to the character select like in new game. But i had multiple so it wasn't an issue, but definitely something to keep in mind if you try what i did.
  11. so i think i worked it out in a roundabout way by storing my items in boxes in offline mode. Going back online and loading the save i found that a. Old items that weren't missing before spawned back in my inventory b. All items i had stored in the boxes were still in the boxes. So it seems i did get my items back and even a few duplicates for my troubles. I didn't have time to load another time and ensure the problems stopped, and i do worry because this is quite silly - these are different save files- but i'm hopeful that everything will be fine for now.
  12. Ha it seems like a minor thing but i too would really appreciate a tongle between first/third person fallout style. I don't know why it's such a big deal but it is for me, when it comes to rpgs that is. Beyond that, just give me more outer worlds honestly.
  13. Hello! I made an account for this in the hopes that i can fix this, because it looks solveable. I loaded a save on switch and many items were missing from the inventory, but the world is as i left it. After trying different things and searching online, several people that had this bug suggested it had something to do with online, and i remembered that after sleep mode i had got some kind of connection lost message yesterday. So with that in mind i tried playing in flight mode on the same save and the items were back! Hurray. So i turned online back on and the items are again gone, same save. Based on this information, can someone please suggest a way to save my items? ps: the game is awesome so far. I've been an obisidian fan for years and i'm glad to have finally joined this community even on this occasion. Unfortunately i don't have a lot of time to play/ test, and restarting seems unlikely if there's fear that this might happen again. Since this seems well documented and i can access my items when offline, i'm hoping there's some way to bypass this issue. It seems like the inventory is syncing with some previous state when playing online or something? Thanks
