  1. Everyone's persisting in talking about some big new RPG being released in a few days. Awowed or Ewoked or something. But there's going to be a NWN2 enhanced edition! Party like it's 2006:
  2. Well, it looks as if we're finally getting Neverwinter Nights 2 Enhanced Edition. Sadly, the people making it are Aspyr rather Beamdog, though Aspyr did the Mac port of the original game. I'd be a surprised if any of those staff from 2006 are still with the company now though! It's been almost twenty years after all. Still, very grateful that this game, which has always had a special place in my heart, is going to get some more attention. It would be wonderful if this could help bring about NWN3.
  3. I'm not sure if you can bump posts on this forum, but I'm going to try anyway. I'd love to be able to read the design document. At the same time, it seems like there could be a question mark over whether it still exists. It's been almost 18 years since the game was released. If a module I did on digital preservation taught me anything, it's that most people don't bother to maintain their digital archives in a useable format. And definitely don't copy back-ups saved in a lossless format onto external harddrives which are then stored in a second location.
  4. I was wondering if anyone has a copy of the Neverwinter Nights 2 Design Document which they would be willing to share with me? Given that it's now over sixteen years since the game was released, I don't imagine there's anything there that's top secret. I'm responsible for a series of rambly posts about NWN2 cut content on Tumblr. If I got the document, I imagine I'd produce another rambling Tumblr post, plus share the doc with fans with similar interests.
  5. It can't be - I remember BG2: Throne of Bhaal being released, and that was just yesterday. /denial
  6. Yes, true - I haven't listened to other episodes in the series. I don't know if Matt is always very talkative, or if it's just that George is quiet/was struggling to remember what he did in 2007.
  7. I was alerted to the existence of this via Tumblr. George Ziets, the creative lead on Mask, has done a big interview on GiantBomb about it while playing through the introductory 'barrow' level. Great to see the game getting some attention! Now I just need them to get hold of Ferret Baudoin and do a follow up about the OC. #remasterNWN2 #IwantNWN3
  8. Great video! I'm scared that I have vague memories of hearing about Obsidian being founded when I was lurking on the Bioware message boards. God, I'm old. Lovely to see some old favourites again. Neverwinter Nights 2 is still awesome after all these years (#pleasegivemeanenhancededition) and Kreia from KotOR2 is still one of the best video game characters. And now I'm playing Pillars of Eternity 2. One day when I've upgraded my steam-powered laptop to something more modern, I might even play Outer Worlds. Carry on being great for decades more, Obsidian.
  9. I'd be happy to help crowdfund a NWN2 remake. It feels as if, on account of the splash made by the pre-release version of BG3,* a NWN3 might not be as distant as it seemed a few years ago. * I haven't heard any figures yet though.
  10. I'd love a NWN2 remaster. It's been one of my favourite games since I first played it in 2007/08. Not being a modder, I'd love to see the OC reworked - some of the the planned cut content reinserted, Act 3 given more love, perhaps some extra missions and side quests. I know it won't happen. :( The original voice actors couldn't be brought back for the two expansions for contractual reasons, so it seems as if there's no chance of it happening ten years down the line. Plus, I think the kind of improvements I like are the ones that are most expensive to implement.
