  1. xbox360achievements.org says "Alpha Protocol rescheduled for Spring 2010." Seems like a nice way to say "Hey gamers, guess what?...another title seems to have been delayed but we are tired of that word and so will now refer to all delays as schedule changes." Seems like other companies and people are trying to soften the blow of either the economy or game quality that is hurting this quarter.
  2. I wonder if Obsidian will finally be able to comment and vent their frustration now. Maybe talk about how they are tired of working with the "Sonic Pushers" or can't wait until their contract is up with them. Unless... it is Obsidian's fault and they will have to eat humble pie and speak meekly as to the issue.
  3. It will be interesting to see what the feed will say now that Sega has pushed the game back. Maybe Thorton will fall into a coma and grow that lumberjack beard so that if the game does release he can start his first mission "under cover!" At least the dude writing it can take a creative break from coming up with one liners and possible hidden meaning quips.
  4. Yep... and then it will change to 5/27/2010 and then moved back a few more months so they can focus on a Sonic project. It will be interesting to see if Obsidian stays involved on the forum for this game or just moves on to their other projects. If you want to know where Sega's focus is, just look at their main page. Anyone for some bananas?
  5. Absolutely true! I just put it up here because I was hoping to hear about something besides GFWL, delays, or the Twitter feed. Anything that could actually produce a new discussion.
  6. Since we are having to wait to find out if AP is delayed or not and people are speculating on the reasons, maybe we should request a cover art redo. The guy on the box looks nothing like Thorton. Maybe they should take these speculated 8 months and redo the in game character's look (because the cover art looks better,) or have one of the artists whip up a new cover with Gumby Thorton on it!
  7. I recall them mentioning before that they don't want to release the achievement list because it contains spoilers. But you have a point with the rest I think that they would still have to release the achievements sometime before release...right? I don't recall any game that didn't and yet if they are so worried about "spoilers" they could lock those and and mark them as "Secret"
  8. To add to the speculation... Wouldn't we at least have an achievement list (for console) if it was going to be released any time soon? Not only is it all quiet on the communication front (except for the Twitter incident,) but no more videos, dev diaries or anything.
  9. Just found out that the PC version has been "relocated" to March 2010... imagine that!
  10. I know some or many of you may not care but there is a light rumor on the Assassin's Creed II boards showing that it may get delayed. As bad as the developer communication has been here lately (which I applauded in a previous post and now retract) it is much worse with Ubisoft. Forum goers there are concerned that it has not yet "gone gold" while supposedly maintaining the release date in November. The reason I mention this is for the people who might be looking for a stealth alternative to this game which is in some type of unconfirmed limbo. it won't do much for those of you only interested in the RPG elements of AP. I don't get these developers and publishers...not everyone wants to play Modern Warfare 2!
  11. If you go to Sega's page where you can pre order their games, Sega shows a RELEASE DATE OF 10/6/09 for Alpha Protocol. Not to stir the pot since everyone seems to look for an official thread but I thought that I would throw that out there... don't hold your breath.
  12. Has anyone noticed that the voice in the 1st trailer on the Alpha Protocol site sounds like Michael Ironside (Sam Fisher)? It has him giving what little advice that he can to Mike and it isn't much. If it isn't supposed to be Sam, then is Michael Ironside doing some side voice work for Obsidian? There was a time when he was in dispute with Ubisoft and it was thought that he wouldn't reprise his role on Conviction but that has supposedly been resolved. Any thoughts?
  13. I am an older gamer and have seen many consoles and games come and go. I got back into gaming with a certain stealthy spy game that was a very successful franchise. I became loyal to that company and the games that it produced until the announcement of yet another delay along with their lack of clear communication. They have proven to be very uncommunicative with their community/ fans and have started to lose the loyalty and patience of many. I do not usually comment on forums, instead just look for details or facts. After reading multiple postings and answers from several developers, I thought that I would give a thank you to Obsidian for being more proactive with its community. I know that you can not answer all questions, especially in detail, but it is nice to see the fans not being ignored. You have earned a curious and eager fan and I am looking forward to Alpha Protocol. Ubiso... I mean that other developer, could learn a few things about dealing with the public instead of just worrying about quarterly and fiscal reports. The fans, after all, are the consumers who have to buy the product that define, in part, the company's profits. Thanks Obsidian!
